IPL 2021: All IPL Teams Captains and their Current Age. 

A captain is only as good as his team, weather that is true or not, a captain makes it a point to lead his team from the front through success and most importantly failures. In this season of the IPL 2021, two new leaders will lead their teams and let’s look at the captains from all teams:

Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians, 33 years) 

One of the most successful captains in the IPL history with five titles under his name and looking out for the sixth, Rohit and company are the defending champions of the IPL. MI Rohit played a total of 12 matches last year and scored 332 runs with an average of 27 and a strike rate of 128. Rohit Sharma finished on a position of the 23rd highest run scorer of the tournament. Rohit will look to deliver an ample in team and ensure the title again.

Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore, 32 Years):

The RCB are grateful to be in the captaincy of Virat since the beginning of the franchise. In the last season, Virat played in all 15 matches scoring a total of 466 runs and the highest being 90* with a strike rate of 121. SRH eliminated RCB last season. Virat’s captaincy is something to admire and will hope to lead RCB to the title this season.

MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings, 39 Years):

After having a devastating 2020 season, CSK is one of the most consistent team in IPL history under the leadership of Dhoni. With his leadership, CSK have made it into every play-off before the 2020 season. His batting average was 25 with a strike rate of 116 scoring just 200 runs but managed to be the best keeper by taking 15 catches behind the stump. CSK will look to clench another title with Dhoni by their side, probably for one last time.

Eoin Morgan (Kolkata Knight Riders, 34 Years):

Eoin Morgan is a type of captain who remains calm even in the most high-pressure situation of the game. One of only two foreign captains this season in the IPL, after Dinesh Karthik stepped down as captain midway last season. He played a total of 14 matches and scored a total of 418 runs with a batting average of 138, KKR didi not manage to qualify last season and look for redemption this season by Morgan leading their way.

KL Rahul (Punjab Kings, 28 Years):

After finishing 6th last season, Rahul did not have a great win-loss percentage for his team. As a leader, Rahul set a great example with the bat leading from the front by scoring a whopping 670 runs off 14 matches which included a century and 5 half-centuries with an incredible average of 56. Rahul will look to keep up this form and lead Punjab Kings to their title this season.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals, 23 Years):

Former captain Shreyas Iyer being ruled out of the IPL 2021 season due to a shoulder injury; Pant will lead DC this season. After rediscovering his mojo in the recently concluded international cricket with England, Pant will be rearing to get going on the biggest T20 stage of all. Pant, by scoring a total of 343 runs off 14 matches the highest being 56 at an average of 31. Pant will look to set an example this season by leading from the front.

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals, 26 Years):

Rajasthan Royals named Sanju their new captain after releasing Steve Smith. Samson a young talented wicket-keeper batsman with an explosive power with the bat, will try to influence his leadership skills in this season and the reputation level set high by receiving congratulatory messages from the likes of Dhoni, Virat and Rohit. Sanju played 14 matches scoring 375 runs with an average of 29, 85 being the highest runs scored by him. Samson will look to lead RR to the title and execute his captaincy skill along the way.

David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad, 34 Years):

Warner being one of the best batsmen in the history of the IPL by being the 3rd highest runs getter (5254) just behind Suresh Raina of CSK with (5368) will look to inspire his team to their 2nd IPL title. By playing all 16 matches and scoring 548 runs with an average of 40 and a strike rate of 140, the Australian left-handed batsmen will look to lead from the front in this season of the IPL.
