Punjab Kings entered the auction room with INR 53.20 crore in their wallet. With this pocket depth, they were expected to make heavy biddings for the players they wanted to go for. Here is the list of all the players they have bought in the IPL 2021 auctions:
1: Jhye Richardson:
Cricket is a batsmen’s game, they say. Doesn’t look like it to us anymore! Richardson was sold for INR 14 Crore.
2: Riley Meredith:
Considering the recent performance of the uncapped Aussie, Riley Meredith has been snapped by Punjab snapped at INR 8 Crores.
3: Moises Henrique:
Another Australian finds the place on the Punjab Kings roster. He can bat. He can bowl and has a great amount of experience. Moises Henriques at the price of INR 4.2 Crore is a great deal.
4: Shahrukh Khan:
The uncapped Indian finds the place in the Preity Zinta-owned franchise. He went to INR 5.25 Crores price tag before the hammer finally came down for him to get sold.
5: Dawid Malan:
This is why rankings don’t matter sometimes. Dawid Malan is the number one ranked T20 batsman in the world, and there were only a few teams who seemed interested in signing him. Punjab Kings eventually got him at a mere INR 1.5 Crore, his base price.
6: Budget Signings:
Jalaj Saxena for INR 30 lakh, Utkarsh Singh for INR 20 lakh, and all-rounder Saurabh Kumar for Rs 20 lakh.
Overall Punjab Kings must be pretty happy with their signings in IPL 2021 player auctions.
