IPL 2022: Indian Premier league has witnessed many captains who either bloomed or spilled in the pressure of leadership. 2022 will be the 15th edition of IPL and let’s discuss the future captains for these franchises going forward in the season:

Delhi Capitals – Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer has revamped the team after the Delhi Daredevils changed their name to Delhi Capitals. Under his captaincy, Delhi has done really well growing as one of the toughest opponents in the league. He will surely be given chance to continue his captaincy in the future.

In his career span of 2015-2020 (Injured in 2021) he has scored a total of 2200 runs out of 79 matches, with an average of 31.42.

Chennai Super Kings – JadejaIPL 2022 Updates

M.S Dhoni will probably not stay for long and that way Jadeja can be a potential skipper for the side. He is matured and experienced alongside being an all-rounder player who is very much capable of taking responsibility for leadership.

In his career span of 2012-2021, he has scored a total of 1228 runs out of 123 matches, with an average of 26.69. With the ball, he has taken 93 wickets with an economy of 7.54.  

Sunrisers Hyderabad – Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is the superstar of SRH and he has always stepped up whenever needed. He shows good potential with a calm and composed attitude. This shows the future of SRH is in good hands. 

In his career span of 2018-2021, he has scored a total of 1246 runs out of 48 matches. With an average of 34.61.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Andre RussellIPL 2022 Updates

Andre Russell has been the biggest strength of Kolkata in recent years and they may want to promote him as the skipper of the side. His leadership quality gives him a good chance to lead the team in the future. 

In his career span of 2014-2021, he has scored a total of 1622 runs out of 74 matches. With an average of 30.60.

PBKS – Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal opens for PBKS and Rahul from last season has not won more than 7 matches. IPL 2021 didn’t see much of his captaincy. It’s a possibility that the side may look for a fresh face. Mayank scored 99* on his first captaincy stint which is a great sign, although Punjab lost to DC in that match. 

In his career span of 2018-2021, he has scored a total of 1136 runs out of 42 matches. With an average of 28.40.
