The Yellow Brigade will be out to defend their 4th title in the next season of the IPL. However, with the mega auction coming up, they will be allowed to retain only 4 players from their current squad!

So who are these 4 players that the owners will not want to let go at all? Well, here are our picks:
#4 – MS Dhoni
Like with Mumbai, the captain is the obvious pick. There were rumours that this was already announced after IPL 2021 ended, however no official statement was made by the CSK owners.
But with Dhoni after the victory in the final stating that he had not hung up his boots just yet, it shall be a no-brainer for CSK to retain their most successful (and only) captain.
Should the IPL happen in India next year, the Chennai faithful can get ready to embrace their Thala one final time!
#3 – Ruturaj Gaikwad
We move from the old guard to the new. Gaikwad had a stellar season in IPL 2021 with the bat in hand, scoring 635 runs and claiming the Orange Cap in the process.
Needless to say the CSK owners will be retaining the promising young upstart for themselves! The fact that he’s a gun fielder just helps his case even more!
#2 – Faf du Plessis
Although Gaikwad’s opening partner is on the wrong side of 35, he is still a supreme athlete. Faf and Ruturaj together scored almost 50% of the total Chennai’s runs in IPL 2021! That is a mind-boggling stat!
Faf himself missed out on the Orange Cap by a whisker, scoring 633 runs this season. CSK will definitely need his services for another cycle.
#1 – Ravindra Jadeja
Sir Jadeja’s name is enough. He can contribute effectively in all 3 departments of the game. An association that started in 2012 is not expected to be broken anytime soon!

We cannot see Jaddu in any colour other than yellow, and we feel that his love story with CSK will continue even further!
