IPL 2022 Retentions SRH: 4 Players Sunrisers Hyderabad Can Retain Before the Mega Auction

IPL 2022 Retentions SRH: IPL 2022 retentions rules have been announced. So who will Sunrisers Hyderabad retain? Read on to find out!

The Sunrisers from Hyderabad has largely been a successful franchise ever since it came into existence in the year 2013. In the current cycle from 2018 to 2021, they reached the playoffs in all of the seasons except the last one.

The Orange Army looked totally out of sorts in this season in both the Indian and the UAE legs. It is also almost certain that David Warner will be let go by them, with both parties deciding to part ways after a 7-year long association.

With all that in mind and the Mega Auction coming up, here are the 4 players Sunrisers Hyderabad can retain:

#4 – Kane Williamson

It is a very obvious choice first up. He has been a very successful captain for the Kiwis in all 3 formats, and has also led the Orange Army to a final before, in the 2018 season.

Added to that, he has a phenomenal IPL record – 1,885 runs in 62 innings at an average of 40.11 and a strike rate of 131.27!

The franchise owners have no reasons to change their captain, and thus, KW should continue here!

#3 – Rashid Khan

Here is another choice that is very obvious. The Afghani all-rounder has played for only one franchise in the IPL, and that is the Sunrisers!

His returns in bowling have been staggering – 93 wickets in 76 innings at an economy rate of under 7 runs an over, and an average of 20.56.

Khan is expected to be retained by his team once again!

#2 – Manish Pandey

In the SRH ranks, he is the only established Indian batter. For the Orange Army, he has scored 1,345 runs in 51 games.

Although his strike rates have been on the lower side, he has generally been given the role of a sheet anchor within the SRH setup.

With the experience he brings to the table, we don’t see the SRH owners letting him go anywhere else!

#1 – Bhuvneshwar Kumar

From Indian experience in batting, we come to Indian experience in bowling. Bhuvneshwar had a very poor season in 2021. However, his numbers are brilliant for SRH.

In 101 matches for the Orange Army, he has claimed 118 wickets. He is surely an SRH legend, and still has a few years left in him. We believe that he will spend those few years with this franchise only!

So here are the 4 players that SRH can retain!
