IPL 2022 New Teams: The second phase of IPL 2021 has not even started yet that a big news is coming out about IPL 2022.

For many days it was being reported that the number of teams in IPL 2022 would be increased from 8 to 10.

Now in this sequence, according to another news. New teams will be bid on October 17 and on the same day. It will be sealed which are the two teams that will play in the biggest T20 league of cricket in IPL 2022.

Along with this also. It has been ensured that there will be no e-auction and bidding will be done on the teams in the old fashioned way. If two teams come, the number of league matches for each team will be increased from 14 to 18.

New Franchises to be added

During this at least 7 matches will be played at home and 7 matches outside. It may also happen that BCCI gives 14 matches to each team. And there may be an option of 18 matches as well.

The number of league matches will be either 74 or 94 and this decision will be taken by the BCCI only. After the names of both the teams are approved.

The first rule for the auction is that whichever company will invest money on the teams. They should have a net worth of at least 2500 crore. And it also the turnover of the company should be above 3000 crores.

Also, even if 2-3 companies together bid on a team. Then at least one of the three should have a net worth of around 2500 crores.

According to the report, the base price of a team in an auction is 2000 crores. The cities whose teams can appear in IPL 2022 include Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Indore, Cuttack, Guwahati and Dharamsala.

It is being said that before this, Sanjeev Goenka. Who has invested money on Rising Pune Supergiants, wants to buy the team from Lucknow.

At present, the eyes of BCCI and all the players are on the second phase of IPL to be held in UAE. If both the teams will be auctioned on October 17, then the T20 World Cup is starting in UAE and Oman on the same day.
