Neymar PSG 2022: Neymar may have unlocked his brilliance once again for the world to see after a brilliant start to PSG’s Ligue 1 2022-23 campaign.

The Brazilian has begun this season on a stellar note as he bagged 8 goals and 7 assists from the first 8 matches of the season.

Coupled with that, Neymar has even begun the UCL season on a high with a goal and assist from 2 group stage matches.

The big question here is: Is this going to be the season of Neymar’s return to brilliance?

ImageDespite the success for PSG in terms of titles, Neymar has not been at his best ever since his world-record $264M move from Barcelona back in 2017.

After 4 seasons with the Blaugrana side, Neymar made the shift to PSG in 2017 with plenty of expectations due to the huge price tag and personality coming along.

Injuries coupled with inconsistent performances has left PSG fans and the club unhappy with Neymar’s returns.

But in this very season, Neymar seems to have come into his own and is looking the deal after a gap of 5 seasons.

His consistency and mesmerizing start to the season has helped PSG remain unbeaten in the Ligue 1 till September.

The Parisians remain top of the table with 22 points from 8 matches, which includes 7 victories.

So much so, that due to Neymar’s accuracy and pin-point performances, even Messi and Mbappé have risen their levels of play.

The Brazilian’s stats in the Ligue 1 are next to madness as he reached 100 matches for the club.

The winger has scored 77 goals and provided 44 assists in these 100 games; which are next to ridiculous.

One can say that despite such stats, when looked into further detail, it doesn’t look so rosy for the Brazilian. But on first glance, Neymar has proven his mettle with the French-based team.

Across all competitions, it’s been a whirlwind ride for the attacking trio of PSG. The trio has contributed to 41 goal involvements in a span of just 10 matches this season.

While Messi has 5 goals and 8 assists; Mbappé has scored 10 goals in 8 matches.

Neymar is the top scorer in the Ligue 1 currently with Mbappé following closely behind in 2nd place with 7 goals.

Messi-Neymar combination has cemented the two in the top 2 assist makers of the season as well with 7 each.

The Parisian Trio are on a mission this season after this start as they look to continue bringing the laurels home for PSG including the UEFA Champions League.

It is here that PSG haven’t clicked as a unit and failed to bring home European glory.

Is Neymar back to his Best

With 15 goal contributions in over 8 League matches, the Brazilian is hungry for more and looks assured to have his best season in a PSG shirt.

His best season as PSG was his first one in 2017-18 where he scored 19 and assisted 13 goals in 20 appearances.

But since that, it’s been a downslide for Neymar but now we could we see an unlocked beast version of Neymar running opponents ragged.
