La Liga Record Alert: Diego Simeone equals most wins for Atlético de Madrid

Atletico Madrid were back to winning ways as they beat Villareal 0-2 on Sunday with goals from Alfonso and Felix to seal the points and go five points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Diego Simeone created a record with this win as he equalled Luis Aragones for the most wins as a manager for the club with 308 victories. Diego Simeone has recorded 308 wins in 612 matches with a success rate of over 50%, his biggest success being champions of Spain in the 2013-14 season.

Simeone will look to capitalize on this victory as he gets his boys ready for the Madrid Derby on Sunday followed by a visit from Athletic Club, an away game against Getafe post which the big Champions League 2^nd leg decider at Stamford Bridge on 17^th March.
