Ligue 1 news: Neymar agrees new contract with PSG, to stay till 2025


Neymar contract : As per reports, Neymar has agreed a new contract with Paris Saint Germain until 2025 which officially announced on Saturday.
ImageThe prolific Brazilian’s future has been in doubt for a while but a contract extension till 2026 dashed all hopes of a move away from Paris.
Neymar joined PSG in 2017 in a world-record 222 million Euros move from Barcelona making him the most expensive transfer in the history of football.
The Brazilian has scored 88 goals in 114 appearances for the Parisians since his arrival.
In an injury affected 2020-21 season, he has scored 7 goals and provided 4 assists in 15 matches for PSG in the Ligue 1.
ImageNeymar’s contract was set to expire at the end of the 2021-22 season but the extension shows that he is happy at the French side.
Paris Saint Germain are currently 2nd in the league table with 75 points from 35 matches behind Lille.
In the Champions League this season, he scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 9 matches before PSG bowed out in the semi-final against Manchester City.

Neymar has won a hat-trick of Ligue 1 titles at PSG since his arrival along with 2 Coupe de France titles.

In his 3 seasons in Paris, he scored 19, 15 and 13 goals respectively before this season.
While Neymar’s future seems to be settled, its his partner in crime, Mbappé, whose future at the club seems undecided.
The Frenchman is eyeing a move to Real Madrid in the summer and PSG would need to ensure they do not lose the striker.
