The rivalry renews in France as Lille take on PSG in the Super Cup final for a chance to lift the first silverware of French Football in 2021.
Lille come into this on the back of a 2-0 loss against FC Porto last Monday as Costa and Santos’ second half goals inflicted yet another defeat on the Ligue 1 champions.
The champions have not ensured the best pre-season as they won 1, drew 1 and lost 2 of their 5 preparation matches.
Gourvennec’s side have not been at their best and could come into this cup final with a lack of confidence.
Lille will look to utilize their experience and temperament in executing their plans to perfection.
On the other hand, Ligue 1 runners-up and current Super Cup defending champions, PSG have come into this final without a defeat in pre-season.
With 3 wins and 2 draws out of their 5 pre-season matches, Pochettino’s men have been good and remain a top side to continue their good form.
