Liverpool clinch an important win over Southampton beat them by 2-0, move to six spot.
Liverpool beats Southampton 2-0′ Liverpool successfully won the Premier League match in Week 35 at Anfield Stadium, Saturday (8/5/2021). Juergen Klopp’s troops beat Soutampton with a score of 2-0.
Liverpool opened the scoring through Sadio Mane in the first half. Thiago Alcantara then scored Liverpool’s second goal in the second half.
Thanks to this result, Liverpool occupy the fifth position with a collection of 57 points. While Southampton are still slumped in 16th place with a score of 37 points.
The course of the match
Liverpool immediately appeared to press from the early minutes. The dominance of the game made Southampton more defensive.
The result proved that they got their first chance through Sadio Mane in the 9th minute. But his shot still soared over the Fraser Forster crossbar.

In the 25th minute it was Diogo Jota’s turn to threaten the Southampton goal. However, his shot can still be thwarted by Fraser Forster.
