Mahela Jayawardene refused BCCI offers to Coach Team India says, only Interested in Mumbai Indians & Srilanka

The BCCI is now in search of a new coach for Team India. According to the news, BCCI had approached Mahela Jayawardene to become the coach of Team India.

Jayawardene Refuses BCCI’s offer

According to a report in the Indian Express, “BCCI approached Mahela Jayawardene with an offer to become the next Indian coach. But he said that he was only interested in coaching Sri Lanka and Mumbai Indians.”

Rohit Sharma is the only strong contender to become the captain after Virat Kohli quit the captaincy from T20.

Rohit Sharma captains Mumbai Indians and Mahela Jayawardene is the coach of MI. In such a situation, it may be in the mind of BCCI that the pair of these two can take Team India to a new level in international cricket as well.
