Pep’s side brushed aside Barnsley in their previous match 4-0 with Edozie, Knight, Mahrez and Ake getting onto the scoresheet.

City earlier beat Preston and with this win have notched up successive victories ahead of the new season.

The Premier League champions have one of the strongest squads and will look to continue the good form in this final clash before the season begins.

On the other hand, Blackpool come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw against Morecambe. McDonald and Hamilton scored for either side as the spoils were shared.

This will be Blackpool’s final pre-season match as well before they begin their season against Bristol City.

After gaining promotion, Blackpool need to start their season on the right note if they look to continue last season’s excellent work.

Both sides last met each other in the Premier League 2011 on New Year’s Day where Man City won the contest 1-0 through Johnson’s goal.

Line-ups

Manchester City:

Steffan, Mendy, Ake, Dias, Cancelo, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Palmer, Mahrez, Edozie and Knight

Blackpool:

Maxwell, Husband, Keogh, Connolly, Garbutt, Carey, Ward, Hamilton, Mitchell, Yates and Sarkic

Prediction: Man City 3-0 Blackpool

Man City should win this one easily without much of a fuss. The youngsters in Pep’s side look to stamp their authority and remain in his plans for the upcoming season.

Blackpool will find it difficult to match up to City’s standards and swift play.
