Mexico faces Canada in the Gold Cup semi-final as they look to reach successive finals of the competition after finishing runners-up in the 2019 edition.

The Mexican side eased past Honduras 3-0 in their quarterfinal match with Mori, dos Santos and Pineda finding the back of the net.

On the other hand, Canada beat Costa Rica 2-0 to book their place in the semi-final of the competition as Hoilett and Eustaquio got their names on the scoresheet.

Both sides finished table toppers and runners-up in their respective groups to qualify for the knockouts.

Les Rouges managed to score 10 goals in the competition while Mexico has 7.

Even with the absence of Davies, Canada have withstood pressure and come out trumps against their oppositions.

Mexico will eye another shot at the title after finished 2^nd place in 2019 while Canada aim to stamp their authority as well in their maiden semi-final appearance since 2007.

Between both sides, Canada has been defeated once in this competition by USA.

Both sides met last in the 2019 edition of the Gold Cup where Mexico won 3-1 with goals from Alvarado and Guardado’s brace.
