Mike Maignan signs for AC Milan on 5 year deal from Lille, check more


Mike Maignan: AC Milan has signed French goalkeeper Mike Maignan from Lille to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma next season on a five-year deal.
Mike Maignan was part of the victorious Lille side that won the Ligue 1 this season and was also the Golden Glove winner.
The Frenchman kept 21 clean sheets in 38 Ligue 1 matches this season which helped Lille pip Paris Saint-Germain to the title by a single point.
Maignan joined Lille in 2015 and with time became an important member of the Lille set-up.
He also voted Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year in 2018-19 and also found himself in the Ligue 1 team of the year as well.

After spending 6 seasons at the club, Mike leaves the French champions to join AC Milan.
AC Milan finished runners-up in the 2020-21 Serie A season as they lost out to local rivals, Inter.

At the age of 25, Maignan is one of the top goalkeepers in the world and with a return to UCL football next season; he could well make a case for himself.
The Frenchman will look to carry forward his winning run with Lille to AC Milan.
The goalkeeper’s skills will be tested in the Serie A but he is deemed to come up trumps against tough oppositions and attackers.
Maignan has signed a deal till June 2026 with AC Milan as he gets ready for his new journey in Milan.
Lille won their first Ligue 1 title since 2010/11 season and Mike Maignan played a vital part in bringing the French side to the top with his exquisite skills.
He leaves France with a league title to his name.
