Victory could see Norwich climb to 18th if Burnley lose elsewhere. Whereas Brighton could temporarily go top with a win if Liverpool lose at Watford in the lunchtime kick-off and Manchester City and Man United both lose elsewhere in the 3pm kick-offs.

Mathias Normann is a doubt for Norwich after withdrawing from the Norway squad for the recent international fixtures with an abdominal injury.

Christoph Zimmerman (ankle) and Todd Cantwell (Achilles) could also be in contention if pass late fitness tests, as Sam Byram (thigh) remains ruled out.

Brighton will welcome Yves Bissouma back. After the midfielder missed their last three matches with a knee injury.

Adam Webster (hamstring) and Enock Mwepu (groin) are also set to available for selection. But Steven Alzate (ankle) and Danny Welbeck (hamstring) are ruled out.

Stat Attack

  • Norwich have lost both Premier League meetings against Brighton without scoring (L2).
  • Brighton have won just one of their last five visits to Carrow Road (W1, D1, L3).
  • Daniel Farke’s Canaries claimed three of the five yellow cards dished out in two Premier League clashes against Brighton.
  • No Norwich player has committed more fouls this season than Pierre Lees-Melou who has committed eight fouls in six league appearances.
  • Out of all British and Irish defenders in the Premier League this season, no defender has produced more shots on target than Brighton’s Shane Duffy who put four shots on target.

Prediction

Having picked up their first point of the season with a hard-earned point at Burnley a fortnight ago. Norwich will be keen to kick on but their defensive handling of long balls and set pieces do need improvement. Because they’re finding their strides in attack now. But are being let down in defence.

Brighton meanwhile will be looking to rediscover their best form after struggling to a goalless draw at home to Arsenal last time out, despite looking the stronger team overall in what were torrential conditions which actually makes the draw a decent effort given how awful the conditions were.

In fact, we really can’t see past a Brighton win if they can bounce back here despite having a rocky away record at Carrow Road. But Norwich’s defence does seem there for the taking if can deliver clinical long balls and set pieces.

Norwich City possible starting lineup:
Krul; Kabak, Hanley, Gibson; Aarons, Lees-Melou, Normann, McLean, Giannoulis; Pukki, Sargent

Brighton & Hove Albion possible starting lineup:
Sanchez; Duffy, Dunk, Burn; Veltman, Gross, Lallana, Bissouma, Cucurella; Trossard, Maupay

Prediction: Norwich 0-1 Brighton
