Oman beats PNG: Hosts Oman started off with a win in the T20 World Cup and defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 10 wickets in the opening match of the tournament on Sunday.

Hosts Oman got full 2 ​​points with this win. Host team captain Zeeshan Maqsood won the toss and invited the PNG team to bat first.

However, PNG team could manage only 129 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Oman achieved the target in 13.4 overs without losing any wicket. Jatinder Singh (73 *) gave the team victory with a six. He made a match-winning opening partnership with opener Aaqib Ilyas (50*).
