Hundreds in all Formats: Jos Buttler recently became the first Englishman to score a hundred in all 3 formats for his country! Here are other players who have done this before him, for their respective countries!

English wicketkeeper-batter and white-ball vice-captain Jos Buttler is in amazing form in the T20 World Cup! He scored a brilliant century against Sri Lanka to ensure another victory for The Three Lions!

In doing so, he also became the first English player to score a hundred in all three active formats of the game for his country! Here is a list of 10 such batters who have done that for their respective nations:

#10 – Jos Buttler (England)

As mentioned, Buttler became the first Englishman to do it. His first ODI 100 came against Sri Lanka in the year 2014 at Lord’s, while his maiden Test century was against India in the year 2018 at Trent Bridge.

#9 – Kevin O’Brien (Ireland)

The Irish all-rounder has been one of the legends in associate cricket. His first Test hundred was also Ireland’s first, and it came against Pakistan in 2018.

O’Brien scored his first T20I century against Hong Kong in 2019 in the 2019–20 Oman Pentangular Series. His first ODI century was also his first ever 100 for the Irish, as it came way back in the year 2007!

#8 – Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh)

The southpaw has been amazing for the Bangla Tigers in career spanning more than a decade! He scored his first ever Test 100 against the West Indies back in the year 2009.

Iqbal’s maiden T20I century came against Oman, in a T20 World Cup match no less, in the year 2016. Tamim scored his first-ever ODI hundred in the year 2008 against Ireland.

#7 – Shane Watson (Australia)

Watto has had a tremendous white-ball career for Australia. He notched up his maiden Test 100 for the Aussies, against Pakistan in the year 2009.

His first T20I century came against India in the year 2016, while his first century in the 50-over format was against the West Indies in the year 2008!

#6 – Francois du Plessis (South Africa)

More commonly known as Faf du Plessis, the right-hander has had a wonderful career for South Africa. He scored his first Test century on his Test debut in the year 2012, against Australia.

He loves playing against Australia as his first ODI century also came against them, while his maiden T20I century came against the West Indies in the year 2015.

#5 – Ahmed Shehzad (Pakistan)

At this side of the border, we might recall him as the look-alike of Virat Kohli. However, there was a brief spell where Shehzad went on a tear and scored a lot of runs!

He got his first ODI 100 against New Zealand in the year 2011, and his first T20I 100 in the year 2014, in the T20 World Cup. His first Test 100 came against Sri Lanka in the year 2014 as well!

#4 – Suresh Raina (India)

Many Indian batters have done it since, but Raina was the first do it for his country. His maiden Test 100 came against Sri Lanka in the year 2008. This was the same year for his first ODI century as well, which came against Hong Kong.

In the year 2010, he scored a brilliant hundred against South Africa in the T20 World Cup to reach his maiden T20I hundred!

#3 – Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka)

The former Lankan captain has had a legendary career with the bat in hand. His first ODI hundred came against England in the year 1999. His maiden Test century came against New Zealand in the year 1998.

He scored his first T20I century in the year 2010 against Zimbabwe!

#2 – Brendon McCullum (New Zealand)

Always known for his fearless approach, Baz also holds this distinction for the Kiwis. He scored his maiden Test hundred against Bangladesh. His maiden ODI century came against Ireland.

His maiden T20I century was brought up against Australia in the year 2010, which was also the second-ever century in T20Is!

#1 – Chris Gayle (West Indies)

The Universe Boss is not only the first-ever West Indian to score hundreds in all 3 formats, but he’s also the first-ever batter to do so!

His maiden Test century came against Zimbabwe in the year 2001. His first-ever ODI century was brought up against Kenya in the year 2002.

His first T20I hundred was also the first-ever hundred scored in T20Is. He brought it up in the 2007 T20 World Cup, against South Africa in the opener.
