Raphael Varane has tested positive for Covid-19; will miss tonight’s UCL clash against Liverpool

Real Madrid have been given another setback as they announced that Raphael Varane has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss tonight’s quarterfinal 1st leg match against Liverpool.
He along with Sergio Ramos will miss out tonight’s clash at home.
ImageReal Madrid had already lost Ramos due to injury during the international break and now with Varane out too, the defense of the Los Blancos seems shaky.
Zidane Zidane will look to his bench and will in all likelihood bring in Miltao to replace the Frenchman at the back.
Varane has been a regular starter in the La Liga having played 27 matches in the league and providing 2 assists.
Varane’s positive Covid test means that he will be mostly out of the upcoming El Clasico this week.
Zidane’s men are placed 3rd in the league table behind local rivals, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona with 63 points to their credit.
ImageA tough week beckons the La Liga holders as they look to regain the championship as well as qualify for the semis of the UEFA Champions League.
*Varane’s absence for the 2nd leg has yet not been confirmed.
