SL vs IND 2021: Former India Test batsman Wasim Jaffer has opined that former India captain and great batsman Rahul Dravid should not become the permanent coach of the Indian team.

Jaffer said that in his opinion he is not needed at the top level of cricket (Rahul Dravid Should not be Team India Coach). Wasim Jaffer was discussing this on his YouTube channel.

Let us tell you that Rahul Dravid is on a tour of Sri Lanka with a team of Indian team these days. Here Team India will play a series of three ODIs and 3 T20 matches under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. There is a good mix of senior and young players in this team. Dravid will help the players to devise strategies on the field here.

Jaffer said that the players who have accompanied Dravid on this tour will definitely benefit a lot from Dravid’s experience.

But despite this, he believes that he should not become the permanent coach of Team India. Jaffer has also given the reason for this. He said, ‘The Indian team is touring two countries simultaneously. It shows how strong India’s bench strength is and how many great players they have available.

43-year-old Jaffer said, ‘The credit for this goes to BCCI as well as Rahul Dravid. The way he is working in NCA and the work he has done with India A and India Under 19. He is playing an important role in making the youth better cricketers.

Jaffer said, ‘For this reason, I want that he should not be the coach of Team India because he is needed in preparing the youth of India A and Under 19.

The player who has reached Team India is completely ready. But the youth who dream of playing in the Indian team, if they get the guidance of Dravid at the lower level, then it proves to be important for their career.
