Sweden vs Canada: Sweden is up against Canada in the final of the women’s football competition on Friday as they look to reclaim their crown in Tokyo.

MATCH PREVIEW:
Sweden were once again at the top of their mark throughout the competition having finished table toppers of Group G.
And were the only side in the competition to have won all their group matches.
They started off with a win against USA followed by successive wins against Australia and New Zealand 4-2 and 2-0 respectively.
In the quarterfinal, they conceded their first goal of the competition in a 3-1 win over hosts, Japan before getting a 1-0 win over group opponents, Australia in the semi-final.
Rolfö’s second half goal was enough to send the Swedes to successive finals, where they have a chance to reclaim Olympic Gold after the heroics of Rio 2016.
On the other hand, Canada managed to secure qualification by the skin of their teeth when they finished 2nd in Group A.
A win against Chile 2-1 was sandwiched between two draws against Japan and Great Britain.
The Canada side has to endure the penalty shootout against Brazil in the QF which they won 4-3 after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Canada edged out USA in the semi-final 1-0 through Fleming’s penalty to secure their place in the Tokyo final.
The Canadian side is yet to win Olympic Gold and this could be their time to create history but standing against them are the defending champions, Sweden.
Both sides last met in the 2019 World Cup where Sweden won the contest 1-0 as Blackstenius scored the only goal.

Sweden’s form has been relentless and they come into this final being the only side undefeated.
Canada have not had the best of tournaments but will still be hard to put past.
We expect the Swedish women side to take the game by the scruff of the neck and reclaim their Olympic Gold as they look the far better side at the moment.
