Teams who have lost the most ICC Finals in Cricket, Check Out The List

Most ICC Finals Lose: Team India in every ICC tournament since the 2013 Champions Trophy. Start their ICC tournaments as a favorite and they also play the same. But unfortunately, they did not carry that momentum in the knockout stages. Since 2013 India has lost 6 important knockout matches in the ICC tournament including the recent WTC Final.

After playing some top-class cricket in the whole WTC once again India failed to deliver in the Finals. Before that India’s defeats have come in 2 World T-20 matches. 2 ODI World Cups and one Champions Trophy. Will take a look at this:

WTC (2019-2021)

Billion hearts were broken after India’s defeat in the inaugural final of WTC on Wednesday. This came as a shock for many fans, who had more or less confirmed India will lift the Test Mess at Southampton. This match exposed India’s weakness in the batting order on a big stage. Virat Kohli once again failed to perform to his potential in another ICC knockout match and India lost another nearer chance to win an ICC tournament.

ICC World T20 (2014)

The tournament was held in Bangladesh in March-April 2014. Where India lost to Srilanka in the final by 6 wickets.
India had entered into the knockout stage by topping the Table and by crashing South Africa in the semifinals. But in the final Indian batters failed to put a good total on board and lost the final in 17.5 overs.

ODI World Cup (2015)

The tournament was held in Australia and New Zealand. India coming to play as defending champions and as a favorite for the title.

But again the mantra of knockout matches didn’t work for team India and they lost in the semifinals against Australia by 96 runs.

ICC World T20 (2016)

India set a solid score of 193 while batting first in the semifinals against West Indies, but unfortunately, the knockout matches pressure didn’t give permission to Indian bowlers to defend the score, and India lost in the last over.

Champions Trophy (2017) Final

The Champions Trophy was held in England and Wales, in which two rivals India and Pakistan did fight for the trophy in the final. Pakistan never gave a chance to Indians to come in a match, they outplayed team India and won the trophy comprehensively.

ODI World Cup (2019)

New Zealand defeated India by 18 runs in the World Cup 2019 semi-final at Old Trafford in Manchester, UK. India can’t chase down the target of 240 against the kiwis. Which was India’s fifth defeat in ICC knockout matches.
