When was the first mascot used in Olympic Games?

Technically the first mascot to be used was at the Grenoble Winter Olympics in 1968; it was a kind of skier with a blue body and a smiling red ball.

But that same year in Mexico 68 and unofficially a dove from La Paz and the Mayan Jaguar were used. A figure of a throne-jaguar of red color and green-jade spots that has a ribbon tied around the neck with a pin of the five olympic rings attached to it.

It was until Munich 1972 that pets were formalized giving way to Waldi, a representative dog from Bavaria. From there the tradition took shape until our era.
