A cricketer’s life doesn’t end and people don’t forget as some of the stadiums will get renamed or named after them. Let’s look at 5 stadiums named after cricketers.

Lord’s (London, England):

This stadium, named after the famous first-class cricketer and his ground at St. Johns wood. This stadium is the Mecca of cricket and now known as Lord’s.

Bradman Oval (Bowral, Australia):

The home town of Sir Don Bradman had a small ground named in his honor. Though it has not conducted any international matches. Back in 2008, the women’s Ashes game was played.

Sir Viv Richards Stadium (North Sound, Antigua):

The ICC World Cup 2007 kicked off at this stadium in honor of Sir Viv Richards. However in the test match back in 2009 between England and West Indies was abandoned due to the pitch deemed to be dangerous.

Allan Border Field (Brisbane, Australia):

The field located near Brisbane, the ground conducts age group matches and women’s cricket matches. It’s a small ground without big stands and doesn’t host international matches.
