Goalkeeper goals: Allison Becker scored the winning goal for Liverpool in their 2-1 win over West Brom and added his name to the ‘Goalkeeper goals’ list.
Allison’s goal meant he became the first Liverpool goal-keeper in their history to find the back of the net.
The ‘Goalkeeper goals’ list is pretty obvious in its name where it contains the list of last line of defenders who scored a goal.
Premier League has seen such moments where the No 1 get their names onto the scoresheet.
We oversee the top 5 players from EPL to have found the back of the net:
PETER SCHMEICHEL
The Danish goalkeeper scored for Aston Villa in 2001/02 season when they lost 3-2 against Everton
Schmeichel came for the corner, managed to get onto the ball on the volley and dispatch it home.
This was his 1st ever Premier League goal for any club.
BRAD FRIEDEL
The United States international is Premier League royalty having played 450 matches in the league and gave many memorable moments.
One such moment was in the 2003/04 season when he scored the equalizer goal to make it 2-2 for Blackburn against Charlton Athletic.
Eventually, Charlton beat Blackburn 3-2 but Freidel’s goal remain etched in the minds of Blackburn fans.
Spurs beat Watford 3-1 in that match and Paul Robinson scored the 2nd goal.
TIM HOWARD
⏪ | #OnThisDay in 2012…
Tim Howard scored his only Everton goal with this effort against Bolton.
Distinctly remember the class he showed in refusing to celebrate.
