Top 5 Highest Scores in a T20 World Cup Final | Check Out

5 highest scores in T20 WC Final: Kane Williamson scored a record-equalling 85 in the T20 World Cup final against Australia. Here are the top 5 highest scores in a final!

#5 – Gautam Gambhir (The 2007 Final)

The legendary southpaw has contributed vitally in both the final victories in 2007 and 2011. In the first of the twin contributions, he scored a brilliant 75 off just 54 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes.

This knock helped India reach a fighting total of 157 for 5, which proved to be just enough as Pakistan were bowled out for 152!

#4 – Virat Kohli (The 2014 Final)

The master batter was in imperious form in the 2014 T20 World Cup. He scored a magnificent 77 off just 58 balls, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes in doing so!

However, the same did not prove to be enough as Sri Lanka chased down the total of 130 easily, to lift their maiden T20 World title.

#3 – Marlon Samuels (The 2012 Final)

The Caribbean dominance in T20 cricket began from here. Samuels started very slowly but picked up later on to finish with 78 off 56 balls, hitting 3 fours and 6 sixes.

West Indies managed just 137 for 6 in their 20 overs, but it proved to be enough against the hosts Sri Lanka, as they won the game by 36 runs.

#2 – Marlon Samuels (The 2016 Final)

Samuels did it for them in their second World Cup victory as well! Chasing 156 in the final, he setup the platform with his well-compiled 85 off 66 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.

It was this platform upon which Carlos Brathwaite made his “Remember The Name” moment, and the West Indies won their second T20 World Cup. They are still the only team do so!

#1 – Kane Williamson (The 2021 Final)

The Kiwi skipper equalled Samuels’ feat two nights ago in the final against Australia. He scored 85 off just 48 balls, allowing his team to put up a big score of 172 for 4.

However, it proved to be short as Australia romped home with 8 wickets and 7 balls to spare!

So these are the top 5 highest scores in a T20 World Cup final!
