5 players Last T20 WC: The T20 extravaganza is about to begin, and we are just 3 days away from the start! Here are the top 5 players who most likely will be playing their last T20 World Cup.

As the Men’s T20 World Cup begins this Sunday, we have a plethora of cricketers from 16 nations participating, from young to old. Here, we will focus on some of the older ones, those who are about to ride into the sunset.

Although the next T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place next year, here are the Top 5 players who almost certainly will be playing their last T20 World Cup this time around:

#5 – Shoaib Malik (Pakistan)

The 39 year-old veteran was a last-minute inclusion in the current year’s squad. If he has an average tournament, a comeback for him will become very unlikely. This should, in all certainty, be his last hurrah in the shortest format!

#4 – Mohammad Hafeez (Pakistan)

Staying with Pakistan, as there is another all-rounder who is almost 41 years of age. Although his wealth of experience in T20s has been invaluable, it will become difficult for him to maintain form and fitness for the next edition in 2022.

So this could well be “The Professor’s” last T20 World Cup, and he would like to end it on a high!

#3 – Dwayne Bravo (West Indies)

The Trini all-rounder has already taken retirement from international cricket once, so it would be safe to assume that he could take the decision to hang up his T20I boots after this World Cup.

The “Champion” has already lifted the coveted trophy twice. As he approaches 40, he would like to preserve his body by only playing in T20 leagues around the world, and not playing too many internationals.

Will we dance to DJ’s tunes for the third time?

#2 – Kevin O’Brien (Ireland)

We all remember him as that pink-haired burly Irishman who chased down a mammoth score against England in Bengaluru in the 2011 World Cup! Guess what, he’s still around!

In what might turn out to be his last T20 World Cup, O’Brien will look to ensure qualification to the Super 12s for the Irishmen.

He is now 37 years of age, and if Ireland fails to qualify for the 2022 T20 WC, the one this year might turn out to be his last!

#1 – Chris Gayle (West Indies)

The most prolific batsman in all of T20s is our No.1 pick. He is 42 years old, and still going strong! Although this can turn out to be his swansong, as far as international T20s are concerned.
