#5 – West Indies (17 wins)
The Calypso Kings are surprisingly last on this list, given that they are the only team to have won the World Cup more than once!
Excluding their two ties against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, they have 17 outright wins in this tournament. They have played 31 matches in total, and lost only 12.
Their winning percentage stands at an impressive 58.33%!

#4 – South Africa (18 wins)
The Proteas embody the phrase – “Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.” They have won 18 out of the 30 matches that they have played in this tournament.
Even with an impressive win percentage of 60%, they do not have a single T20 championship to their name. This is because of them being notorious for losing out in the knockout stages.

#3 – Pakistan (19 wins)
The men in green have a very impressive record in the World T20s. Till 2012, they were the only team to have had never bowed out of the competition before the semifinal stage!
This is reflected in their 19 wins out of 34 matches played, with 14 losses. The 1 remaining match was a tied one against – no prizes for guessing – India in 2007! Remember that bowl out?
Nevertheless, Pakistan have a win percentage of 57.35%!
#2 – India (20 wins)
Coming at No.2 are Pakistan’s neighbours India. The Men in Blue won the inaugural edition in 2007. Post that, they made a semifinal appearance in 2016 and lost to Sri Lanka in the final in 2014.
They have played a total of 33 matches in this tournament, winning 20 of them. This means their win percentage is a handsome 64.06%!

#1 – Sri Lanka (22 wins)
The island nation tops this chart. They won the 2014 edition, but have reached the final two more times – in 2009 and 2012. This leaves their overall record in very good stead!
In 35 matches, they have 22 wins. This also ensures that their win percentage is the best too – with it being 64.26%!
This year, although, Sri Lanka find themselves having to play the qualifiers in order to secure a place in the Super 12s. Can they continue being at the top? Only time will tell!
