UCL: Manchester City beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 in first leg

Manchester City beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 in the first leg of their tie at the Puskas Arena on Wednesday with goals from Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus as the Premier league side made it 19 straight wins across all competitions.

Silva made it 1-0 in the 29th minute after Cancelo put in a terrific cross at the far post from the left wing for the Portuguese to head home.

The Portuguese returned the compliment after Cancelo’s cross into the box was headed by him across the goal for Jesus to poke home for 2-0.

City dominated from start to finish as they were not tested until the 94th minute when Wolf was denied by Ederson.

This victory means that City are now victorious in 12 consecutive away matches across all competitions this season which is a new top flight English record.
