UCL News: Marcelo to miss second leg of Champions League semi-finals, check out why

Marcelo is set to miss the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea due to local elections work in the capital.
The Brazilian has been called up to work during local elections in the Spanish capital and would be unavailable for the match in London.
ImageMarcelo has not been at the fore-front of Zidane’s starting 11 this season with Mendy taking his place.
But Mendy’s injury has given way to the Brazilian to start a few matches for Los Blancos.
In the La Liga, Marcelo has played 13 matches and provided 2 assists, which does not showcase much of strength.
ImageHe has played 2 matches in the Champions League this season and provided a sole assist.
Mendy’s rise as a player has kept Marcelo on the bench for a while this season.
ImageBut one cannot discount the experience, creativity and stability he brings to the Real Madrid defence.
Real Madrid managed a 1-1 draw at home against Chelsea last night as Pulisic and Benzema scored.

Zidane needs to have his team sorted out well for the second leg as they travel to London.
He would hope to see Ramos return for the second leg after he missed the last weeks due to a calf injury.
Vázquez and Valverde are on the sidelines as well due to a knee injury and Covid-19 respectively.
Zizou’s men are targeting another Champions League triumph this season and with few key players out, it seems a tough road ahead.
