We now know the eight remaining teams in this season’s Champions League, so the next step is the draw for the quarter-finals. The remaining English clubs – Manchester City, Liverpool & Chelsea – are amongst the favourites to go all the way, but the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will also fancy their chances. This is the start of our live blog for the Champions League quarter-final draw. There are no obstacles when it comes to who can play who at this stage of the competition, so any of the eight teams can face each other.

11:17 GMT: Second semi-final

The winner of Benfica vs Liverpool will face the winner of Villarreal vs Bayern Munich.

11:16 GMT: First semi-final

The winner of Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid will take on the winner of Chelsea vs Real Madrid.

11:15 GMT: Semi-final draw

Now, the draw for the semi-final draw will take place.

11:14 GMT: Benfica vs Liverpool

Benfica will take on Liverpool in the final quarter-final tie.

11:13 GMT: Villarreal vs Bayern

Villarreal are the first name to be drawn in this third quarter-final, with Bayern Munich following soon after.

11:12 GMT: Man City vs Atletico

Manchester City have been drawn against Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s side are returning to Manchester after knocking out Manchester United in the last round.

Chelsea will take on Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, which is a repeat of last year’s semi-final.

10:30 GMT: Who are the favourites to win the Champions League?

Manchester City are currently the favourites to go on and lift the Champions League for the first time in their history, while Liverpool and Bayern Munich are just behind in second and third place respectively, according to Sky Bet’s odds. Real Madrid were widely seen as the fifth favourites, but they have now jumped ahead of Chelsea.

10:00 GMT: Chelsea may have to play behind closed doors

As a result of the current sanctions imposed on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, the Blues might have to play the home leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie behind closed doors, much to the disappointment of Thomas Tuchel.

Atletico Madrid secured their place in the last eight of the Champions League after knocking out Manchester United, and Diego Simeone will no doubt be hoping he can conjure up the spirit of 2014 and 2016, which is when they went as far as the final.

Villarreal and Benfica are the two teams that the remaining six will be looking to draw in today’s quarter-final draw, but they will be far from straightforward to play against. The Yellow Submarine have experience of going all the way to the Europa League final – and winning – from last year, while the Portuguese giants have beaten both Barcelona and Ajax this season.

The first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals will take place on April 5 and 6, with the return fixtures a week later on April 12 and 13.

There will be two matches on each night, taking place at the same time.

The Champions League quarter-final draw will take place at 11:00 GMT, which is 12:00 CET, on Friday, March 18 from UEFA‘s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

At the same time the semi-final draw will also happen, so the eight remaining sides can plot out their potential route to the final in Paris.

07:00 GMT: When is the Europa League quarter-final draw?

The Europa League quarter-final and semi-final draws will follow the Champions League draw on Friday at 12:30 GMT (13:30 CET).

The draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Europa Conference League will start on Friday at 14:00 GMT (15:00 CET).
