UEFA takes action against England over Laser pen used on Kasper Schmeichel

England are in the Euro 2021 Final, but it could cost them dearly for the behavior of the people in the final match against Italy.

As  UEFA opened a disciplinary investigation against them after what happened in the semifinals against Denmark.

The European confederation issued a statement informing about the disturbances that it will investigate.

The first of these is the laser aimed from the stands at the Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel when he was getting ready to face Harry Kane in the penalty in overtime, where he saved it. But the English forward scored on the rebound.

Charges against England :

  • Use of laser pointer by supporters – Article 16 (2) (d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (RD)
  • Riots caused by his followers during the national anthem – Article 16 (2) (g) RD
  • Lighting of fireworks by his followers – Article 16 (2) (c) DR

“The case will be tried there by the Control Authority, Ethics and Disciplinary Body of UEFA (CEDB) in due time , ” reads the text.

England beat Denmark 2-1 in overtime at Wembley and will now face Italy in the Final on Sunday at the same venue. Where they will seek to win their first European Championship.
