Unai Emery League

Unai Emery has once again provided proof that he is not a tin-tin coach.  Especially when competing in the Europa League or the official name is the UEFA Europan League.

Unai Emery led Villarreal for the first time in the club’s history to qualify for the European championship final.

For Unai Emery himself, this is the fifth Europa League final in his career.  Of the four previous finals, Emery only failed to win once.  That failure occurred when Emery became Arsenal coach.

Painful Former

There are two former Arsenal players in the Villarreal squad this season.  Both of them were very decisive for The Yellow Submarines and had an important role in eliminating Arsenal from the Europa League.

First, coach Unai Emery.  He was kicked out by Arsenal because he was considered a failure.  Second, there is midfielder Francis Coquelin.  In the second leg, Coquelin performed very well in the Villarreal midfield.

Arsenal Dull

Arsenal’s front line has a serious problem, very serious.  Because, from two matches against Villarreal, the Gunners were only able to release three shots on target.  Nicolas Pepe’s penalty kick in the first leg doesn’t count.

All these opportunities were obtained by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a player who was replaced in the 80th minute in the second leg duel.  In fact, he is the player who threatens the opponent the most.

Arsenal’s difficulty in getting opportunities is not just the fault of the attackers.  Arsenal do not have a creative midfielder who appears consistently.

Time to Go, Arteta?

Mikel Arteta is under pressure. He Can not be denied anymore.  The failure in the Europa League was the culmination of the bad situation Arsenal experienced in the 2020/2021 season.

Arteta has a lot of problems, not just about performance. The player he bought failed to perform well, Willian.  Arteta also failed to create a conducive dressing room due to clashes with several players.

The Gunners suffer

The 2020/2021 season has been a difficult moment, very difficult for Arsenal.  Because, they almost certainly fail in all aspects of sports.

Gunners have started the season well, winning the Community Shield.  However, after that, things were difficult.  Arsenal failed in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Arsenal are now also failing in the Europa League.  In fact, Arsenal may not be playing on the European stage next season.  Because, the club from North London is now in 9th place in the Premier League standings.
