Andre Russell fastest Fifty CPL: Jamaica Tallawahs star all-rounder Andre Russell has scored the fastest fifty in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history.

Russell scored a half-century in 14 balls in the match against St Lucia Kings on Friday (27 August). Which is the fastest fifty of this tournament.

Russell batted at a strike rate of 357.14 in 14 balls and scored an unbeaten 50 with the help of 6 sixes and 3 fours. In this innings, he scored 48 runs only with fours and sixes.

Earlier, the record for the fastest half-century in the CPL was held by JP Duminy, who scored a half-century in 15 balls in 2019.

Russell has become the first player in T20 history to score 50 runs in 14 balls on two occasions. Earlier, playing for Colombo in the Lanka Premier League 2020, Russell scored a half-century in 14 balls.

Russell scored 29 runs in the 19th over bowled by Wahab Riaz. In which he hit four sixes and a four. Wahab conceded 61 runs in just 3 overs in this match. This is the most runs spent by any bowler in three overs in franchise T20 cricket.

Earlier in IPL 2013, Thisara Perera conceded 60 runs in three overs against Chennai Super Kings while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Due to Russell’s half-century, Jamaica scored 255 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. This is the second highest score by any team in the CPL.
