Roger Federer continues in the fight to get his ninth Wimbledon crown. Despite the knee problems that he has been carrying since January 2020. The Swiss tennis player has already managed to settle in the fourth round of the tournament and became the third tennis player longest to do so.
For the eighteenth time he has managed to enter the Round of 16 and, with this, he has already added 69 times in which he has entered this instance in the total of the four ‘majors’.

The third oldest tennis player in the Round of 16
At 39 years and 337 days old , he has become the third oldest tennis player to reach the second week of competition , within the Open Era. Pancho Gonzales (41 years in 1969) and Ken Rosewall (40 years in 1975), occupy the first and second place, respectively, of the most veteran in this instance.
The way to the fourth round
Federer started his way in Wimbledon with luck , since despite losing against Adrian Mannarino , the Frenchman suffered an injury in the fourth set and, although he tried, he could not continue with the match, so the Swiss was able to advance.
In the second round, the Basel man decisively defeated Gasquet in the first three sets. While in qualifying last , he eliminated at Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
