Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was initiated by the WWE to pay respects to the late Andre the Giant. The 2.24 metre giant had a uncanny resemblance with the WWE universe. Andre The Giant memorial Battle Royal takes place every year before the Wrestlemania.
Here are all of the winners of the Battle Royal till now:
Cesaro
Cesaro won the first ever Andre the Giant Battle Royal at the Wrestlemania 30th 7 years back. He won the 30 man match by eliminating the Giant Big Show towards the end of the match. However, Cesaro was unable to reach the WWE spotlight even after winning this Battle Royal.
Big Show
The Big Show won the second edition of the Battle Royal after reaching the runner up position in the first one. The giant eliminated Damian Mizdow in the end to secure his win. Big Show resembles highly with Andre the Giant as both the wrestlers are huge.
King Corbin
Baron Corbin or King Corbin won the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 32nd. He won the match by eliminating the Big Red Machine Kane towards the end. Corbin has been in and out of WWE and not reached the spotlight as of now. Currently, Corbin isn’t scheduled at the Wrestlemania 37th.
Mojo Rawley
Mojo Rawley won the Wrestlemania 33rd edition of Andre The Giant Battle Royal. Rawley won the match by eliminating Jinder Mahal with the help of his friend Rob Gronkowski. Even after a huge win, Rawley is still fighting under the mid card section at the WWE.
Matt Hardy
The Hardy Boys made their surprise return at the Wrestlemania 33rd. Matt Hardy then went on to winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal at the Wrestlemania 34th. He received a friendly hand of Bray Wyatt to secure his win at the Battle Royal.
Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman won the Battle Royal at the Wrestlemania 35th by eliminating the celebrity Colin Jost. It took time for Strowman to gather the pieces of his image back after his defeat against Brock Lesnar. Strowman didn’t achieved much after his win at the Battle Royal but he redeemed himself few months later.
Jey Uso
Jey Uso won the latest edition of the Battle Royal before Wrestlemania 37th. He eliminated Shinsuke Nakamura at the end to secure his win. Nakamura had the match in his control but he slipped up a bit in the end where Jey took advantage.
