During training, John Cena also became a part of the Discovery Channel’s Inside Pro Wrestling School. Cena then immediately set out to achieve success in the ring. John Cena held the UPW Championship for almost a month.

John Cena made his official debut in the WWE against Kurt Angle. Cena was then booked into a fight with several of the company’s superstars such as Billy Kidman, Rikishi and The Undertaker.

In 2004, John Cena suffered a defeat at the hands of Big Show at the Royal Rumble. After this, at WrestleMania 20, John Cena once again competed with Big Show, in which John Cena won the United States Championship. It was John Cena’s first title in WWE.
