WWE Latest Rumors Roundup: Backstage Morale, New Signing from AEW, and More

WWE Rumor: Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Former Superstar Confirms Talks With WWE

Davey Boy Smith Jr. was recently interviewed by Metro. During this, he confirmed the rumors that he is in discussions with WWE about possibly returning to the company.

Smith also mentions that there is interest in him going to NXT:

“There has been interest in me going to NXT down here in Orlando. I live down here in Tampa, Florida, so I’ve just been feeling things out, trying to get a lay of the land, so to speak. ‘We’re discussing and talking. I can’t exactly say anything for sure, but there’ve been talks.”

We think that he would be a solid fit for NXT. We would definitely like to see him have another run in WWE.

4) New WWE Signing

According to F4Wonline, WWE has signed Christian Casanova, who is known for his work in the Northeastern United States.

Here is what the site wrote:

WWE continues to add to its organizational depth, signing Northeast U.S. indie standout Christian Casanova to be part of a future Performance Center class.

Fightful Select was the first to report the news with our website independently verifying it. It’s unknown when he will officially start.

We have never heard of him but we are excited to learn more over these next few years.

3) Another WWE Signing

During his NXT Takeover media call, Triple H confirmed another new signing for WWE. Triple H announced that the company has signed Bronson Rechsteiner, who is the son of Rick Steiner.

Here is what he said:

“I’m incredibly excited about Parker Boudreaux coming in, Bronson Rechsteiner, we have a lot of people coming in the door. Just as I am on people who have been here for awhile”

Bronson had an impressive college football career and we are excited to see how he does in pro-wrestling. If he is anything like his dad, he is going to be amazing.

2) No Raises Or Promtions For WWE Employees

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, WWE informed employees this week that they will not be giving out any promotions or raises.

Here is what Johnson wrote about the situation:

World Wrestling Entertainment informed employees and staffers in different departments today that promotions and raises would not be going forward, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

The belief among those we have spoken to is that the company made those decisions over the last several weeks out of financial prudence stemming from the most recent earnings release.

Based on what we have been told, employees would still be eligible for bonuses based on their performance for the company. The edict would prevent them from being given promotions and being given official raises.

We definitely feel bad for these employees. Especially since WWE is still bringing in major profits. It isn’t just a WWE thing though unfortunately, this is happening in a lot of big corporations.

1) The Current Backstage Morale In WWE

According to @Wrestlevotes, there is a lot of unhappiness and anger right now in WWE. This comes from people at all levels in the company, including the wrestlers and the road crew.

Here is what the account Tweeted:

While not explicitly said by the account, it seems likely that this has to do with rumor #2 and the no raises or promotions being given out.

This is one of those stories that we are intrigued to hear more about over the next few weeks. Sounds like morale is really low right now.
