Shad Gaspard disappeared on May 17, 2020 after being hit by a large wave in Venice Beach, California.

While he was swimming with his family and a group of his friends.

After two days searching for his body, the Los Angeles County Fire Department First Responders Division found him dead.

Gaspard and his ten-year-old son were among a group of swimmers who got caught in a strong current.

The lifeguards in the area entered the water to try to help all the swimmers, but Gaspard told them to rescue his son before him.
