WWE News: Mick Foley contradicts with Roman Reigns comment on CM Punk says, “Punk was very good”

Roman Reigns made some very controversial statements in an interview published this week by Ariel Helwani, where he assured that CM Punk was not up to part-time fighters, like John Cena.

“These words come from people who thought he was better than he really was,” Reigns stated. “Punk, for example, was not that good or on the level of John Cena. Nor of The Rock. He was who he was, period.”

Roman Reigns’ words were posted a day before CM Punk’s supposed arrival at All Elite Wrestling on AEW Rampage and have caused a lot of buzz on social media. Some people linked to the ring, like Mick Foley, have reacted and have given their opinion on the matter. In Foley’s case, he contradicted the words of The Tribal Chief.

Mick Foley Comment

“CM PUNK WAS VERY GOOD, AND WAS VERY OVER. With an interview he changed the course of the wrestling business. He had great matches with a wide variety of opponents every night. When / if he returns to wrestling once again it’ll be damn good and damn over. @CM Punk, “Mick Foley wrote on his official Twitter account.

Mick Foley and CM Punk worked together in WWE at the beginning of the previous decade when Foley was performing the role of commissioner.

One of their most interesting points occurred in the rivalry they had facing Survivor Series 2012, where Punk had to defend the WWE Championship against John Cena and Ryback.
