WWE News: NXT UK Champion Walter exceeds 800 days to hold NXT title

WWE News: NXT UK Champion Walter
exceeds 800 days to hold NXT title.

WWE News: Neither NXT UK nor WWE will be the same when Walter ends his reign in the British WWE brand. The Austrian fighter has become the most dominant fighter on the entire Vince McMahon company roster and is leaving a reign that has now passed into company history.

Walter took the NXT UK belt on April 5, 2019, at NXT TakeOver: New York, so he has already spent more than 800 days with the British brand’s medal in his possession.

It seems difficult to look back and remember a time when NXT UK was not ruled by Walter. The Austrian fighter has had the medal for two years in his possession and there has rarely been a fighter capable of standing up to him in a match, since he has only received a count of three since he was champion and was in a tag team match.

Since winning the belt in April 2019, Walter has put it on the line nine times, leaving fights to remember such as the WWE NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff matchup against Tyler Bate or the matchup with Ilja Dragunov.

In all of WWE history there are only five reigns that were longer than Walter’s in NXT UK and all five are with the company’s top belt.

Pedro Morales with a reign of 1027 in 1971, Bruno Sammartino with 1237 days in 1973, Hulk Hogan with 1474 days in 1984, Bob Backlund with 2135 days in 1978 and Bruno Sammartino with 2803 days in 1963 are the five longest reigns of WWE plus longer than Walter’s.
