WWE News: Top 5 worst matches of John Cena’s career

John Cena, the former WWE wrestler was a 16 time WWE Champion with a remarkably massive career. Cena fought almost every WWE legend throughout his career. He engaged in fights with the Beast Brock Lesnar, Triple H even the Undertaker and many more.

But some of his matches weren’t great as the WWE Universe expected. Here are 5 such matches of Cena’s Career:

John Cena V/S The Undertaker: Wrestlemania 34th

The Wrestlemania 34th brawl between Cena and the Undertaker was the worst fight Cena had ever been in. John Cena being WWE’s high card wrestler was crushed by the Undertaker within a matter of minutes. The Undertaker had the upper hand throughout the match.

Cena did managed to capitalize one of his moves onto the Undertaker but that was it. The Undertaker outmanoeuvred Cena in a few seconds and landed his Tombstone Pile driver onto Cena. The Undertaker then won the match via pinfall.

It was highly unexpected amongst the WWE fans that a match between these 2 legends could end that way.

John Cena V/S Randy Orton: Summerslam 2009

Cena fought Orton for the Second time at the Summerslam 2009 for the WWE Championship. The match turned out to be non exciting one. Cena and Orton had a prolonged rivalry and a constant swiping for the WWE titles in their bouts.

This made the match’s expectations high among the WWE fans. Towards the end, Cena fall prone to a distraction made by Ted Dibiase’s brother of which Orton took advantage. Orton then went for the win via pinfall and stole the title from Cena.

John Cena V/S CM Punk V/S Big Show: Summerslam 2012

Cena had another rivalry with CM Punk at the WWE career that came near to his level of rivalry against Orton. Punk and Cena both had their eyes at the WWE Championship which contributed to their feud that went on for a year.

Both were scheduled for a fight at the Summerslam 2012. As the PPV was coming near, Big Show earned his spot in the match too. The reality was that the fans were expecting this to be a singles match between just Punk and Cena.

Big Show’s addition to the match made it less interesting for the fans. Also, the match turned out to be boring towards the end.

John Cena V/S Brock Lesnar: Summerslam 2014

Cena fought the Beast Brock Lesnar at the Summerslam 2014 in a singles match. The fans expected Cena to dominate Lesnar but the actual match turned out to be quite opposite. Brock Lesnar took Cena to the Suplex City and delivered 20+ German Suplexes onto Cena.

Cena tried to fight back multiple times throughout the match but Brock didn’t let him succeed once. Towards the end, Brock landed his F5 onto Cena and won the match.

John Cena V/S Baron Corbin: Summerslam 2017

Maybe Cena has a bad luck with WWE’s Summerslam PPV. Baron Corbin was the one who fought Cena at the Summerslam 2017. The mere opponent of Cena being a mid card WWE wrestler fanned out the interest of the match.

Corbin cultivated a rivalry with Cena during the Summerslam 2017 PPV. Cena won the match ultimately but the match was still a shame for a wrestler like Cena.
