WWE NXT Result & Highlight: Kushida retains NXT Championship, Fatal-5-way match, Karrion Kross vs Adam Cole and More – 01st June 2021. 
 
WWE NXT Result: The show starts with a video review of the match between Karrion Kross and Finn Bálor and then advertises today’s No. 1 Challenger Triple Threat Match for an NXT Championship Match and the NXT Tag Team Championship Match and the Kushida Open Challenge.

It is switched to the Capitol Wrestling Center with commentators Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph, and Beth Phoenix.

1. Match
No. 1 Challenger Triple Threat Match
Winner gets an NXT Championship Match against Karrion Kross on NXT “TakeOver: In Your House”
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne ended in the No Contest after Adam Cole stormed to the ring and attacked all three rivals with a chair.

Afterwards, Cole beats Kyle O’Reilly. When the referee intervenes, he collects Cole’s elbow. Then Cole messes with Pete Dunne and pushes him against the ring barrier, while the referee is knocked out. This is followed by a suplex against Dunne, a running knee against O’Reilly and the last shot against Gargano.

William Regal goes to the ring with the security and shows Cole out of the hall. Cole leaves the ring and gives O’Reilly a super kick.

After the first commercial break: William Regal and security send Adam Cole out of the building.

Meanwhile, Ember Moon steps into the ring and challenges Raquel Gonzalez, because what she did to Shotzi wasn’t funny. Raquel Gonzalez makes his way to the ring, but William Regal tries to stop her – to no avail. Gonazlez makes it into the ring, but Ember beats her out of it. The security is on site and is holding Gonazlez back together with Regal.

Ember Moon is attacked from behind by Dakota Kai in the ring, while Regal and the security are busy with Gonzalez, Dakota sends Ember out of the ring with a bicycle kick.

Earlier Today Video: Legado del Fantsama refer to themselves as familia. Wilde & Mendoza claim they will follow in Escobar’s footsteps to become the leaders of the leaders. Escobar adds that they will do what they do best and that is to take what is theirs.

Backstage: LA Knight makes his way to the ring and recalls how he attacked Cameron Grimes. He’s going to do the same thing he did with Cameron Grimes last week with Atlas tonight.

Earlier Today Video: We see the arrival of Drake Maverick & Ever Rise as well as Hit Row. The Heel group got into a verbal argument with Drake Maverick until Killian Dain shows up and speaks up for Maverick.

2. Match
Jake Atlas defeated LA Knight after the Rainbow DDT – during the match Ted DiBiase came out to watch the match on the spot, just a moment later Cameron Grimes showed up to talk to DiBiase while he was doing it Grimes funny about DiBiase

After the match, Grimes wants to know from DiBiase if Knight is really the guy he wants to support. DiBiase is no longer interested in Knight.

Backstage: An angry Oney Lorcan doesn’t want a cameraman to film the ailing Pete Dunne. According to Lorcan, Dunne would be the # 1 challenger if it hadn’t been for Cole. Austin Theory shows up and asserts that Johnny Gargano would have been the # 1 challenger. When both fight, several officials intervene.

Backstage: McKenzie asks Ted DiBiase who will get the Million Dollar Legacy. LA Knight is out. Although Grimes has proven that he has brains as well as muscles, he is looking for someone who meets his requirements. Suddenly Adam Cole walks past both of them.

Announcement: Poppy is returning to NXT next week.

After another commercial break, Adam Cole stands in the ring and recalls his title reign as NXT Champion two years ago.

“I was gone for two months and for two months I watched everyone try to live up to my legacy and surprise, they all failed. I just knocked out three of NXT’s top stars in one night!” Adam Cole wants the NXT Championship back.

“That brings me to you, Karrion Kross. People think you’re a monster, but I see through you. You’re nothing more than an overrated muscleman who doesn’t belong in the ring with me.” Cole remembers that he’s the NXT Champion title could hold 403 days.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett make their way to the ring. Kross describes Cole as “Little Man”. Kross can understand why Cole interferes in the title event. But no matter what he does, it won’t change the grand scheme of things.

Cole leaves the ring and clears the commentator’s desk before hyping himself again. Then Cole grabs a water bottle and throws it at Kross and Scarlett before withdrawing.

Backstage: McKenzie speaks to reigning NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Candice LeRae and Indie Hartwell about Poppy’s return. LaRae pulls out on Kross, believing Poppy wants to follow in Bad Bunny’s footsteps. Indi pays no attention to the interview as she listens to music. LeRae grabs Hartwell to set off with her. Indi’s headphones stay behind.

Commentators state that Carmello Hayes (Christian Casanova) accepted today’s Kushida Open Challenge. What follows is a hype video about Carmello Hayes.

Backstage: NXT Tag Team Champs Wes Lee and Nash Carter talk about today’s title match against Legado del Fantasma. Both know how unfair the trio is, but they are ready and will successfully defend their titles.
