WWE Raw Result & Highlight: RK-Bro open the show while reviewing tonight’s confirmed matches.

Riddle arrives with a party hat and a Christmas card, which Randy Orton refuses to take. Randy says the only way to have a Happy New Year is if he beat Otis tonight, and if they retain the Tag Team Championships on Day 1 . Randy asks for a replay of his crossover with Otis last week, Riddle marvels to see Orton get a video on the giant screen and says it might be impossible to RKO Otis.

Chad Gable and Otis interrupt them. Chad claims that there is no man more dangerous than Otis, his exemplary student, his protégé. Gable talks about his college degree and is considered very advanced for a town like Detroit. “Regardless of the outcome on Day 1, those titles will end up on the Alpha Academy waists,” says Chad.
Riddle taunts them and challenges Chad Gable to a fight right now.

Riddle (w / Randy Orton) vs. Chad Gable (c / Otis)
Chad punishes Riddle’s leg when he comes back from the break. Tiger Suplex and count of two on Riddle. Chad launches into Moonsault, Riddle catches him for a Triangle but Chad manages to get out and pass an Ankle Lock. Riddle escapes from Chaos Theory and connects a brutal Knee Strike to finish off with the Floating Bro later.
Winner: Riddle.

After the fight, Otis enters the ring to overwhelm Riddle.

Randy Orton (w / Riddle) vs. Otis (w / Chad Gable)
Otis takes control at the start of the match after applying a Splash. Randy looks for an RKO but Otis pushes him out of the ring. Otis goes for him but ends up crashing into the metal steps. Orton greets him with his classic DDT when he returns to the ring. Otis applies a Body Slam and looks for height. Vader Bomb from the second rope, Randy dodges and finally connects the RKO.
Winner: Randy Orton.

WWE Raw Result & Highlight

Kevin Owens is interviewed. KO responds to a video of Big E assures that he has not come that far at all and that he will leave Day 1 as WWE Champion. Owens says E is wrong. “He says that from home, but I’m here. This time the story is about me. So far everything has gone according to plan,” says Kevin.

Team Match Dana Brooke & Reggie vs. R-Truth & Tamina
Reggie demonstrate their agility by facing Truth early in the fight. Relay for Taimna, who connects a Superkick to Reggie. Dana walks in and kicks Tamina, who responds with a powerful elbow. The men re-enter so that Reggie quickly covers Truth.
Winners: Dana Brooke & Reggie.

Tamina gets mad at R-Truth and tries to attack him. Tamina goes after Dana but like Truth she manages to escape.

Nikki ASH challenges Queen Zelina and Carmella for the Women’s Couples Championships.

Fight for the final of the RK-Bronament
Street Profits tournament (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs. Rey & Dominik Mysterio
Montez and Dominik start the match for a few moments, but soon their teammates enter to increase the pace.

Angelo stops Rey, Montez joins the attack and takes over. Rey dodges a kick and together with Dominik they apply a Double Russian Leg Sweep. Rey takes both rivals out of the ring and throws himself with Dominik on them. Angelo and Rey take over when they return from the break, Mysterio applies a Crossbody for the count of two. He prepares the 619 but Angelo stops him with a Back Elbow.

Dawkins catches a Moonsault but receives a Tornado DDT, Montez breaks the account but receives a Neckbreaker from Dominik. Swinging Neckbreaker to Rey and Montez’s Frog Splash. 1 … 2 … no! Dominik saves his father just in time. Rey escapes from Montez and connects the 619. Hurricanrana to Angelo at ringside while Dominik finishes off Ford with a Frog Splash. 1 … 2 … no! The Mysterios search for a Double 619, but Angelo grabs Rey from outside the ring. Dominik fails to fully apply it and ends up at the mercy of an assisted Blockubster from the Profits.
Winners: Street Profits.

Street Profits will face RK-Bro for the Raw Tag Team Championships on Day 1.

WWE Raw Result & Highlight

The Miz meets Eric Bischoff backstage. Eric will be the one to carry out the vow renewal ceremony between Maryse and Miz.

AJ Styles comes out to the ring. AJ talks about Omos, saying that he has to pay his floor fee to get to the top. “The next time I see you in the ring, I’ll kick your teeth,” says Styles. “I’ve seen giants come and go, but there is only one Phenomenal AJ Styles,” he adds.

NXT fighter Grayson Waller yells at AJ from the audience. AJ challenges him to get into the ring and introduces him to the WWE Universe. Waller argues with AJ until Apollo Crews interrupts them.

Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez step out into the ring. Apollo says that unlike AJ and Omos, he and his giant are a united front. “Your giant is not here, but mine is,” recalls Crews. Azeez challenges Styles to a match right now.

Carmella teases Nikki ASH and Rhea Ripley. He says that Nikki is “almost” many things, but with “almost” it is not enough.

AJ Styles vs. Apollo Crews (w / Commander Azeez)
Apollo decides that he wants to confront AJ. Styles takes the initiative in the first moments of the fight. Apollo stops him with a Back Body Drop and goes for the count. The action moves to ringside, where Apollo charges AJ and crashes him against the edge of the ring. Returning from the break, AJ responds to blows in the ring.

Ushigoroshi and a count of two about Apollo. Crews Sit Out Powerbomb that almost gave him the win. Inverted DDT from a Moonsault by AJ, who prepares to finish but Azeez takes Apollo out of the ring. Apollo applies a DVD on the edge of the ring and searches the account without success. AJ goes from a Jacknife Pin to Styles Clash to finish off Crews.
Winner: AJ Styles.

Commander Azeez enters for AJ, but Styles is the one who ends up dominating the giant.

Seth Rollins sends a video saying that on Day 1 he will get back what belongs to him: the WWE Championship.

Kevin Owens comes out and says he’s in a great mood. KO says he’s smarter than Seth Rollins, tough than Big E, and stronger than Bobby Lashley. Owens talks about his chances in the Day 1 match, stating that his plan will see him become WWE Champion.

MVP comes out to answer Kevin Owens. “If you think Bobby Lashley forgot about you, you are very wrong, and you will know it when you receive a Hurt Lock,” says MVP. MVP calls Kevin an idiot for believing that he has everything going for him to win the match.

Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander come out to get into the discussion. They say that not even The All Migthy can beat everyone. Cedric goes to say he knows what Lashley needs, but MVP stops him. Kevin Owens does not want to continue arguing and challenges Cedric to a match right now.

Kevin Owens vs. Cedric Alexander (w / Shelton Benjamin)
MVP joins the commentary table. Kevin Owens gets it all out and overpowers Cedric. Apply a Cannonball and prepare Alexander to jump on it. Cedric walks away, Kevin goes for him and receives a Clothesline on the edge of the ring. Enziguri and Cedric’s Suicide Dive to go on the attack. KO Powerbomb and Stunner for the win.
Winner: Kevin Owens.

WWE Raw Result & Highlight

Shelton Benjamin enters the ring, but KO does not want to face him. When Shelton turns around to ask for a mic, KO surprises him with a Stunner.

Damian Priest speaks in a video leading up to his match against Dolph Ziggler. He acknowledges that when he gets angry, his dark side comes out, as it happened with Robert Roode last week. However, he is confident that he will be able to retain the title tonight.

Fight for the United States Championship
Damian Priest (c) vs. Dolph ziggler
Priest stops his challenger with a kick and takes control. Ziggler responds and punishes Damian against the cornerback. Priest connects a Clotheslien that takes Ziggler out of the ring. Damian goes for him, Dolph tries to attack him but Damian throws him towards the timekeeper’s area.

Returning from the break, Dolph applies the Famouser but it is not enough. Damian reacts quickly with several blows and puts Ziggler in trouble. Broken Arrow and a count of two about Dolph. Ziggler’s DDT and counts close to three over the champion. Dolph yells in Damian’s face and slaps him. Priest is furious and unloads a hail of blows on him. The referee warns him to stop hitting Dolph against the ropes, but the enraged champion doesn’t stop.
Winner by disqualification: Dolph Ziggler.

Damian Priest retains the title and continues to punish Dolph Ziggler at ringside after the match.

Eric Bischoff comes out to introduce The Miz and Maryse for their vow renewal. Miz assures that this Saturday on Day 1 he will dominate Edge, and in honor of what will happen that day, he wants to give the public something to close this great year. Maryse gets emotional when talking about Miz, whom she calls the better father, husband, and better fighter than Edge. Maryse and Miz renew their marriage vows, excited. Eric says if anyone has something to say, speak now or be quiet forever. But before finishing the sentence, he stops, stating that we all know what will happen.

Edge walks into the ring and says he’s not coming to ruin anything. “I’m not going to talk about the kind of man you are, because finally this Saturday on Day 1 I have a match against you, and I’m going to beat you up,” says Edge. Miz responds that he knew Edge was coming to try and ruin this moment, and he wanted him to have a front row seat so he could see what true love is like. Edge says that before he beats Miz, he’s going to embarrass him. Edge pretends he’s waiting for someone, Miz looks around, annoyed.
The lights turn red and a dark liquid falls on Miz and Maryse.

Edge smiles out of the ring as Miz and Maryse slip into the ring.
