WWE Raw Result, Highlight, Winner, Grade, Reaction, Analysis, Video – 16th August 2021

WWE Raw Result: Raw kicks off with a video recap of the return of Randy Orton and what happened between Riddle and “The Viper” last week.

The Raw commentary team, consisting of Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton greeted the audience.

Randy Orton walks into the ring mostly cheering.  People have been asking him all week why he gave Riddle an RKO.  Orton makes it clear that he doesn’t need friends and that he would have defeated AJ Styles without the help of others.

He’s a 14-time champion and he could have done it all by himself. Orton owes no one an explanation. Orton calls himself the Apex Predator and Raw is still his territory.

He proved it to Styles and will also prove it to Omos tonight.  Omos is a force of nature, but also a sucker.  The audience alternately chants “RKO” and “RK-BRO”.  When Orton wants to announce that he is giving Omos an RKO, Riddle’s music starts playing.

Riddle walks into the ring and he knows why Orton gave him a RKO – he just wanted to teach him how to do a proper RKO.  Riddle says they should give their team another chance.  Orton needs him in his corner to defeat Omos.  Riddle also asks him to bring RK-Bro back.

AJ Styles and Omos interrupt.  Styles doesn’t care why Orton Riddle missed an RKO, but he’d love to see him again.  Styles claims that Orton only beat him because of Riddle, but nothing would save him against Omos tonight.

Also, Styles has had enough of having to hear Bro all the time – it kindles a “BRO” chant.  Styles challenges Riddle to a match so he can break his jaw.

Riddle accepts the challenge and assumes Orton is standing in his corner.  For this reason, Styles expects a beating from RK-Bro.

Back from the commercial break: Orton slowly goes to the backstage area – Riddle is visibly disappointed.  Styles takes advantage of the situation and attacks the distracted Riddle.

San Antonio Spurs Olympic gold medalist Keldon Johnson is in the crowd.

Backstage, Riddle is approached by Kevin Patrick about Randy Orton’s rejection.  Riddle says he didn’t give up on RK-Bro, not even after Orton’s RKO last week.  He’s also sad that Orton let him down in today’s match against Styles.

Charlotte Flair sits down to the commentators for the next match.

Drew McIntyre def.Veer & Shanky (w / Jinder Mahal) after the Claymore Kick against Shanky

After the match: Mahal sends Veer to the ring to get the sword, but McIntyre knocks Veer out with a suplex.

McIntyre grabs the sword, brings it into the ring, and looks at Mahal standing on the stage. McIntyre puts the sword in the corner and has a short conversation with Mahal before saying that the dispatched Shanky also wants to say something. Drew McIntyre pretends to deliver the message to Shanky, who allegedly wants to be as sexy as McIntyre and hopes McIntyre will beat Mahal at SummerSlam.

Drew McIntyre promises to humiliate Mahal. At the same time, he wants to create a moment that will be remembered forever. Finally, McIntyre wants to hear from the audience who will win at SummerSlam. The audience is on McIntyre’s side. It is clear to McIntyre that Mahal has done.

Backstage: Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville inform Charlotte Flair that she will either wait five days until SummerSlam to take revenge there or find a tag team partner this evening. “The Queen” says she doesn’t work well with others. Deville leaves the decision to Charlotte to accept the offer.

Vdeo review: Last week Damian Priest took care of John Morrison and The Miz until the Moneymaker got out of his wheelchair and ran out of the hall.

The Elias video from the previous week is being played. Elias is outside, walking towards a campfire with his guitar. We see scenes of some superstars who attacked him in matches with the guitar.

Elias plays the guitar briefly and then throws it into the fire. Elias says via voiceover that WWE stands for Walk With Elias, but Elias is dead!

In-ring: John Morrison stands in the ring with two chairs and an inflatable pool toy and a children’s pool with toy ducks and drip sticks. He presents the first edition of “MoistTV” to the audience.

Morrison talks about how The Miz got out of a wheelchair and ran away over the past week. It was a great miracle. Morrison has not spoken to Miz in a week and is now calling him out.

The Miz steps into the ring and hugs Morrison, who doesn’t reciprocate. Morrison is now ready to ask The Miz tough questions. So he asks Miz about his favorite film. Miz loves his “The Marine” films. Morrison wants to know if Miz is just pretending to be injured. Miz makes it clear that he is not a liar.

Damian Priest comes out. Once in the ring, Priest titled The Miz as a liar. Priest doesn’t know what MoistTV is, but he likes it better than MizTV. Priest mentions his United States Championship match against Sheamus at SummerSlam and tells Morrison to ask Miz why he let Morrison push Morrison around like a servant in a wheelchair.

The Miz blames Priest for his injury. It was the first major injury he suffered in his 16-year career. There are numerous other superstars who have injured themselves over time and still competed, such as Morrison at WrestleMania, but he has children.

Miz says he’s been fit for a few weeks – this annoys Morrison. However, Miz claims that she is not yet 100 percent fit. Miz only had an energy boost. Morrison asks Miz why he didn’t just tell him. Miz looks for excuses and blames Priest for everything.

Morrison thinks they should make Moist TV special by pitting Priest against Miz. Priest thinks that’s good, but Miz protests. Priest then pushes Miz into the children’s pool with the toy ducks.

Reigning WWE United States Champion Sheamus sits down to comment on the next match.

4th match
Damian Priest def.The Miz (w / John Morrison) after a brogue kick

After the match: Sheamus looks concern because Priest has used his finisher. For Sheamus, Priest is a disrespectful bastard. He should enjoy his moment, because he’ll kick his head off his shoulders during SummerSlam.

Pop-up video by Mustafa Ali and Mansoor. Ali says he doesn’t need someone to keep his back free, but Mansoor still has so much to learn that he’ll keep his back free.

5th match
Mansoor (w / Mustafa Ali) defeated Mace (w / T-Bar) via rollup, previously Mace got a kick from Ali

Backstage: Sarah Schreiber speaks to Omos (w / AJ Styles) about today’s match against Orton. Styles wants to comment, but Omos grabs the microphone and answers. He knows Orton sees himself as a legend killer, but he will wipe out the legend Randy Orton. Styles is happy because they will celebrate the death of RK-Bro.

6th match
Randy Orton defeated Omos (w / AJ Styles) by DQ after Styles intervened in the match and Orton missed a kick in front of the ring

After the match: Styles brings Orton back into the ring and Omos knocks his opponent off the rope. Omos throws Orton back in the ring and Styles wants to show his finisher against “The Viper”.

To loud applause, Riddle storms into the ring and takes care of styles and omos.  Ultimately, Omos grabs Styles and carries him to the stage while the audience chants “RK-BRO”.

Riddle helps Orton get on his feet. Orton requests a microphone and gets it. Orton tells Riddle that respect is something to be earned. Riddle has earned his respect and so RK-Bro is back! The delighted Riddle offers Orton a handshake.  Orton shakes Riddle’s hand and gives him a quick hug.

Riddle grabs the mic and mentions how happy Orton made him. Riddle also presents a challenge.  RK-Bro challenge Styles & Omos to a Raw Tag Team Championship Mach at SummerSlam.

Video review: Karrion Kross defeated Jeff Hardy the previous week and attacked him.

Backstage: Kevin Patrick asks Jeff Hardy why he challenged Kross to a rematch. Jeff is upset and a higher power told him that Kross made a mistake because he didn’t respect him. Kross should better control his hourglass now, as his 15 minutes of fame on Raw are almost over. Kross shows himself and kicks Jeff down with a clothesline before another kick follows.

7th match
Non-title match
Karrion Kross (c) defeated Jeff Hardy by giving up in the Kross Jacket after 50 seconds

Backstage: Eva is upset and stunned because Doudrop did not bring Lilly with her. Thereupon Doudrop received two hard slaps in the face. Doudrop walks away.

In the further course of the camouflaged R-Truth and also the camouflaged Akira Tozawa try to get the champ, but Reggie dodged both and jumped over his car before he announced how easy it was and drives away. Truth and Tozawa blamed each other.

The commentators go through the SummerSlam match card.

In a new video we see the rest of Elias’ guitar in smoking ashes. Elias talks about his musical successes and that he had the fans under control. The music hadn’t let him down, it was just not enough. He repeats that WWE stood for “Walk With Elias”, but now Elias is dead! He puts up his own tombstone with the inscription “Elias 2017-2021“.

Charlotte Flair has found a tag team partner.  This is Nia Jax.

Backstage: AJ Styles tells Kevin Patrick that he and Omos beat everyone who was put in front of their noses – The Viking Raiders, The New Day, and Elias & Jaxson Ryker, who were no longer even a team.  Now there are only five days to SummerSlam before Orton will despise Riddle.

In-ring: Goldberg steps into the ring for the face-to-face segment and mentions that he moved to Texas with his family.  He is particularly pleased to introduce his son Gage (the 15-year-old is at the ring with his friends).

Goldberg returned from retirement because of his son Gage. He knows that his son can just go online and see who Goldberg is, but he wants his son to see who Goldberg / his father is in person.

Bobby Lashley and MVP come out and interrupt.  MVP claims that Goldberg has lost.  Goldberg thought he could come back and do a spear and jackhammer, but then realized that it was different with Lashley.

He is dealing with a man who is more dangerous, more explosive and more dominant. Lashley knows Goldberg wants a moment at SummerSlam, so he’ll give it to him.  Eventually Goldberg’s career would be ended by “The All Mighty”.

Goldberg in amusement and says, “Lashley, this is bullshit!” Angry Lashley starts an attack, but Goldberg evades and gives the WWE Champ a spear.

Gage hopped over the ring barrier and went to the stage with his father.  Goldberg and his son let the fans celebrate, while Lashley is furious.  This ends the final raw before this year’s SummerSlam.
