WWE releases Tom Philips, Backstage has no idea for that; Check the reason


Tom Philips WWE: As reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, WWE has sacked longtime commentator Tom Phillips.

The 32-year-old is the last person in the current wave of layoffs. WWE has parted ways with more than 50 employees in the past few days, including superstars, referees and office workers.

The PWInsider confirmed Fightful’s report, noting that Phillips, fired within the past 24 hours. As Senior Manager of On-Air Talent, Phillips also involved in the production and management of additional commentators for the company.

Phillips served WWE for nearly a decade, serving as the main commentator on Raw from January 2020 through April 2021.

WWE has Released two Commentators

The Twitter account @WrestleVotes revealed that a company meeting took place on Wednesday that included WWE President Nick Khan. The meeting is said to have been well organized, but it did not contain anything really substantial.

PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson confirmed during a meeting and added that Vince McMahon did not appear. Johnson also stated:

“The main announcement that emerged from the meeting, that employees will return to their offices in Stamford, CT from July.”  Assuming that employees in some departments will resume full-time work, while others will partly work from home.
