WWE SmackDown Result: May 1st, 2021Â At the beginning of the show, a video preview of the WWE Universal Championship between title holder Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.
The intro is followed by fireworks. Commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee greet the audience. Both announce Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan in the main event.
This is followed by Bianca Belair’s move in and a short hype video about the SmackDown Womens Champion. Back at the ThunderDome: Bianca Belair is in the ring and the virtual audience is chanting “EST”.
Bianca is happy to welcome the audience to the coolest and hottest show on FOX. Roode and Ziggler interrupt Belair because the Dirty Dawgs want to start the show right.
The Street Profits show up and pull on Roode and Ziggler because they both interrupted the SmackDown Womens Champ.

Suddenly Bayley’s music starts playing. The 31-year-old goes into the ring. There she steals the microphone from Bianca and laughs at her until she gets a slap in the face from her rival. A brawl breaks out between Bayley and Bianca and the Dirty Dawgs and The Street Profits. This leads to the first match of the evening.
A video is promoting a special retro / throwback edition of SmackDown, which will air on FOX next Friday.
1st Match
Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match
Bianca Belair and The Street Profits: Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford def.Bayley and The Dirty Dawgs: Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler after Ford’s Seven Star Frog Splash against Roode
Backstage: Kayla Braxton questions Daniel Bryan about the WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns. Bryan expects a fair match. He knocked out Reigns before and will do it again. And after winning the WWE Universal Championship, Cesaro will finally get the chance to win the title because he has been waiting for it too long.
Backstage: Seth Rollins smiles at Daniel Bryan’s comments as he wants to give a prankster like Cesaro a title match. Rollins predicts Bryan as the winner and new WWE Universal Champion. In that regard, Rollins challenges Cesaro to a # 1 Challenger Match for a WWE Universal Championship next week, if Bryan actually becomes the new WWE Universal Champion.
If this is not the case, they would play a match without stipulation. This is followed by a video review of the argument between Nia Jax and Tamina from the previous week. Backstage: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (w / Reginald) are attacked by Tamina & Natalya during an interview.

WWE Universal Championship Prediction: Booker T expects Roman Reigns to successfully jeopardize his title against Daniel Bryan … Nakamura picks Bryan as he has a lot more to lose.
Backstage: Kayla Braxton interviews Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Rey would like to become the first father / son tag team champion. Video: Aleister Black reads again from Tales of the Dark Father.
The second chapter “Reality” is about people who go through life and make conventional decisions. His father was telling him the truth. He learned that there was something wrong with everyone else. He could have given them the keys, but decided against it.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Big E defeated Apollo Crews (w / Commandor Azeez) by DQ after Azeez pulled Big E out of the ring, before Crews got the big ending
After the match: Crews and Azeez beat Big E until Kevin Owens storms into the ring and wants to make the save, but the heels overwhelm KO. Big E was able to recover in the meantime and is back in the mix. Sami Zayn rushes into the ring and knocks Owens down with a Helluva kick.
The heels cooperate and deal with Owens and Big E. Then Sami Zayn grabbed the IC title. Crews notices this and reclaims his title. Sami tries to calm the situation down, he hands Apollo the title and presents Crews and Azeez as the winner. Commandor Azeez doesn’t trust Sami and strikes him down with the Nigerian Nail.
WWE Universal Championship Prediction: The Miz believes Roman Reigns will defend his title … Cesaro accepts Rollins’ challenge to a match for the next week and thinks his friend will win tonight and then he’ll give Bryan backlash at WrestleMania WWE Universal Champion will defeat.
The next video highlights the feud between Reigns, Cesaro and Daniel Bryan.
Backstage: Kayla Braxton interviews Paul Heyman before the main event. Heyman is tired of hearing Bryan’s name. When he talks about Bryan’s performance he keeps saying “YES … YES … YES” but will Bryan win the title tonight? Heyman knows the answer and it’s: “NO … NO … NO …”

WWE Universal Championship prediction: King Corbin doesn’t like Bryan or Reigns. In his opinion, Bryan will lose and leave SmackDown, which Corbin of course welcomes. Confirmed for next week’s Friday Night SmackDown: Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro. Roman Reigns heads out to a brand new Entrance Theme.

WWE Universal Championship
If Bryan loses, he must leave SmackDown
Roman Reigns (c) (w / Paul Heyman) defeated Daniel Bryan in a guilloutine choke after Bryan lost consciousness
After the match: Roman Reigns brings two chairs into the ring to give Bryan a Con-Chair-To, but Cesaro storms into the ring and knocks Reigns out of the rope with a running European uppercut. Cesaro leaves the ring and performs more uppercuts against Reigns.
Suddenly, Cesaro is attacked from behind by Jey Uso. Jey gives Cesaro a super kick, ties the Swiss Superman on the ropes and applies a reverse chin lock. Now Cesaro has to watch Reigns give Bryan the Con-Chair-To. The WWE virtual audience chants “YOU S * CK!” That ends the show.
