WWE Smackdown Result & Highlight: Friday Night SmackDown Result, Winners, Grade, Video| All You Need To Know – 08th April 2022

SmackDown kicks off with a highlights video of WrestleMania 38…Michael Cole greets the audience. As usual, Pat McAfee co-commentates.

In-ring: Kayla Braxton is already in the ring and calls out “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey. Ronda emerges and Braxton reminds that Rousey kept her word and made Charlotte Flair submit.

The audience chanting “RONDA ROUSEY”. In a video recap, we revisit Rousey forcing Flair to submit.

Back in the ring, Rousey insists that Flair made her submit, but admits she couldn’t beat Flair.

Braxton wonders what’s next for Braxton. Rousey didn’t hesitate and demanded a rematch with Flair at WrestleMania Backlash.

But she doesn’t want just any match. Rousey challenges Flair to an “I Quit Match” – the audience cheers.

Flair appears on the big video screen and makes fun of Rousey. Although she felt Rousey’s armbar.

She was still able to defeat her. Flair refuses Rousey’s challenge and tells her rival to go to the back of the ring.

Rousey promises Flair that this fight will take place and that Flair will not just yell “I Quit” but yell.

WrestleMania Sunday Video Recap: Ridge Holland & Sheamus (w/ Butch) def. Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston after Sheamus’ brogue kick and Holland’s Northern Grit on Woods

Backstage: Sheamus & Ridge Holland prepare Butch for his first SmackDown match.

Before the first match of the night, Kingston commends Sheamus and Holland for getting their first win at WrestleMania.

He welcomes her to the club. Woods admits he doesn’t have a WrestleMania win.

Woods suggests that WrestleMania is essentially a season finale, so this show is the season opener. All records would be reset. The two teams are now 0-0…

1.Match
Xavier Woods (w/Kofi Kingston) def. Butch (w/ Sheamus & Ridge Holland) via Small Package (8:32)

Post match: Butch freaks out and takes out his anger on Sheamus and Holland. Sheamus and Holland try to calm Butch down.

WrestleMania Sunday Video Recap: Johnny Knoxville defeated Sami Zayn in the Anything Goes match.

After a human-sized mousetrap was set by the Jackass crew and Zayn was unable to get out.

Backstage: Sami Zayn is angry with Adam Pearce. He wanted an “Anything Goes” match and not everyone is in the match.

Zayn wants to regain his respect, so he promises to take on the next person who comes through the door.

Drew McIntyre walks out of the locker room and smiles. Zayn tries to make excuses, but Pearce postpones the match.

Zayn walks away and Pearce gets a letter from a WWE employee. Pearce asks the employee to let Ronda Rousey know he can’t meet with her.

In-Ring: Ring announcer Samantha Irvin introduces Ludwig Kaiser (formerly Marcel Barthel).

Kaiser is on the stage. He introduces Gunther as the epitome of elegance and efficiency.

The Ring General Gunther comes out. Michael Cole names Gunther one of the most decorated international fighters of the last decade…

Cody Rhodes vs. The Miz is confirmed in a Monday Raw preview. In addition, Omos will be a guest in MVP’s VIP lounge and Veer Mahaan will face off against Rey Mysterio.

2.Match
Gunther (w/ Ludwig Kaiser) def. Joe Alonzo after a powerbomb – during the match there was a “WALTER” chant, McAfee claimed it was a “GUNTHER” chant (2:04)

Backstage: Kayla Braxton interviews another new member of the SmackDown roster, Raquel Rodriguez (formerly Raquel Gonzalez).

Raquel admits SmackDown has excellent cast members, but none of them are ready for her. Los Lotharios can be seen.

They approach Rodriguez and offer her a welcome kiss. She rejects this and wants to know if both of them are always so annoying. Braxton confirms her question.

In ring: Happy Talk

In a video recap, we see Madcap Moss’ André The Giant Battle Royal win and Drew McIntyre’s win over Corbin at WrestleMania Saturday.

Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss head to the ring for Happy Talk.

Corbin is sad, but Moss is in a very good mood. On the ring is the André the Giant trophy.

Corbin thinks today’s Happy Talk should be a celebration. He blames his loss to McIntyre on Moss because Moss shouldn’t have jumped on the apron during his match.

Moss tries to apologize, but Corbin clarifies that he was only trying to win the battle royal – the audience chants “MADCAP MOSS”.

Corbin sees Moss as the problem and encourages him to tell him jokes. Moss tells two bad jokes.

But Corbin doesn’t laugh. Corbin wants Moss to tell him a good joke since his job depends on it. Moss now tells a joke about Corbin.

According to his description, Corbin dresses as if he is going to a Tommy Bahama funeral.

Moss laughs and the audience is delighted. Corbin wants to know if the crowd found this joke funny – the crowd roars.

Corbin attacks Moss, but Moss defends himself. Moss and Corbin brawl around the ring. Moss repeatedly banged Corbin’s head on the announce table.

Back in the ring, Moss clotheslined Corbin over the top rope and the fans cheered him on.

Backstage: Jinder Mahal and Shanky have a conversation with Adam Pearce. Mahal requests a match.

Against Intercontinental Champion Ricochet. Pearce claims getting another match isn’t that easy.

Rousey enters the office and Mahal and Shanky walk away. Rousey demands an answer to her challenge from earlier.

Pearce says she should get an answer sometime tomorrow. Rousey doesn’t like this answer.

Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn via count-out, after McIntyre went for the claymore kick, Zayn jumped out of the ring and fled through the crowd (3:39)

Post match: McIntyre grabs his sword and points it at Zayn.

After that, Vince McMahon took on and defeated Pat McAfee with the assistance of Austin Theory before “Stone Cold” Steve Austin came out and dealt his stunner.

Michael Cole introduces the story of Lacey Evans. In a backstage segment, Evans talks about her life.

The 32-year-old says she was born in a small town in Georgia. Her father worked in construction but also struggled with his addiction.

Her mother tried her best, but she couldn’t handle the mental and emotional abuse.

Before Evans started elementary school, her mother packed her things in garbage bags and left her father. They moved and lived in shelters for several years.

This experience taught Evans never to give up. It made her the woman she is today.

She is a driven, willing, caring mother, wife, sister, daughter, United States Marine and a WWE Superstar.

The audience applauds. Cole mentions that their story will continue in the coming week.

Video recap: Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley first lost a non-title match to Sasha Banks and Naomi and a week later earned a tag team title match.

Backstage: Megan Morant wants to find out why Liv Morgan is on SmackDown as she will face Sasha Bank & Naomi for the Women’s Tag Team Championship on Monday Raw alongside Rhea Ripley.

Morgan is here tonight as she aims to defeat Sasha Banks in a singles match. Morant asks about Ripley. Morgan claims Ripley won’t be there tonight.

Naomi sits down at the commentary desk for the next match.

Liv Morgan defeated Sasha Banks (w/ Naomi) via rollup – Shayna Baszler & Natayla followed the match backstage (7:07)

Commentators reflect on Rick Boogs’ injury during his SmackDown Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania Saturday. Cole mentions that he had a successful surgery.

After that we see some scenes of Reigns defeating Brock Lesnar in the main event at WrestleMania Sunday.

In-Ring: Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos make their way to the ring.

It’s another look back at Roman Reigns’ victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.

Heyman hands the microphone to Reigns. The Tribal Chief asks Milwaukee to recognize him.

Reigns admits SmackDown and the Universal Title just weren’t enough for him. So he knocked out Lesnar, won the WWE Title and took over Raw.

Reigns has achieved everything, so there is nothing left for him. However, The Usos only hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

That’s why Jimmy & Jey are supposed to go to Raw on Monday and win the Raw Tag Team Titles – both championships are supposed to be combined.

Both agree. Reigns is confident they will have all the title gold.

Suddenly Shinsuke Nakamura’s music starts playing. Reigns is upset and confused because he didn’t expect the Japanese to interrupt him.

Nakamura gets in the ring and wants to share something, but Reigns cuts him off.

He can understand how Nakamura feels after losing his tag team partner Rick Boogs.

Reigns recalls being without Jimmy after a knee injury. The Bloodline is all about love. Reigns hugs the confused Nakamura.

Immediately after the hug, the Japanese conceded a double superkick from the Usos.

Reigns and The Usos celebrate and promise they’ll be on Monday’s Raw. Reigns concludes by posing with both titles. That ends the show.
