Summary WWE SmackDown September 8, 2023

Charlotte Flair and Shotzi defeated Damage CTRL (Bayley and IYO Sky). LA Knight defeated Austin Theory.

Judgment Day (Damian Priest and Finn Bálor) defeated Brawling Brutes (Butch and Ridge Holland).

AJ Styles defeated Jimmy Uso in the main event.

Follow-up LIVE WWE SmackDown September 8, 2023

We start the episode with a brief summary of WWE Payback 2023.

 Team Combat

Charlotte Flair and Shotzi vs.  Damage CTRL (Bayley and IYO Sky)

 Bayley and Flair start.  The Queen begins by distributing blows against both women.  IYO goes up to the ring and Shotzi seeks to balance the scales.

Damage CTRL throws their opponents out of the ring, and Sky pounces on them with a Suicide Dive. Shotzi runs into difficulties after the commercial break.

However, she manages to escape from Bayley and successfully tags in.  Charlotte bests The Role Model and traps her in the Figure Four.

IYO saves her partner with a Meteora!  Damage CTRL are about to take the victory, but Asuka approaches Dakota

At ringside and achieves a distraction. Shotzi takes over without being seen by her opponents and irons Bayley.  1…2…3…

Winners: Charlotte Flair and Shotzi by three

 Asuka and IYO Sky have a brief confrontation in the ring, anticipating a possible fight in the future.

We review AJ Styles’ loss against Solo Sikoa last week, including Jimmy Uso’s show of loyalty to The Bloodline.  Backstage, Paul Heymann.

Clarifies to Jimmy that Roman Reigns has not regained confidence in him.  The counselor promises that he will “reunite the family” if he takes care of Styles tonight.

Paul’s attention turns to The Phenomenal One backstage.  Faced with Styles’ intention to reveal himself, Jimmy attacks him from behind.

Returning from the break, IYO Sky secures a challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka.  Bayley promises that.

Damage CTRL will teach him not to meddle in her affairs. “Let me talk to ya'”.  LA Knight enters the ring and assures that Miz is just another person.

Who tried to stand in his way to the top, and after being defeated he only thought of playing with an invisible John Cena.  “I didn’t need John Cena.

To back me up, I can earn respect on my own. And at the end of the day, you got the three count and you’re more desperate than ever.”

Grayson Waller interrupts, clarifying that Knight should think twice before agreeing to a rematch.  Austin Theory appears, clarifying that he and.

Grayson are WWE’s only undefeated couple.  LA interrupts his words and invites Theory to the ring.

 LA Knight vs.  austin theory

 Theory starts with an advantage.  LA responds with a Neckbreaker before being cornered with knees.  The action goes to ringside, where.

Austin resists several stomps before connecting with a neckbreaker.  Theory takes the offensive after the commercial break, but LA manages.

To return it.  Grayson leaves the commentary table and removes a protection from the cornerback.

His own partner almost falls in the corner and takes a BFT when turning around.  Count of three and victory for Knight.

Winner: LA Knight on a count of three

AJ Styles clarifies backstage that an attack on his back won’t stop him from punishing Jimmy Uso tonight.

In Adam Pearce’s office, LA Knight interrupts Paul Heyman to ensure his rematch against The Miz.  The counselor shakes hands.

With Knight, but threatens him for interrupting him: “next time you come into this office, knock on the door.”

The Judgment Day make their entrance.  Without Rhea Ripley, the three men of the group show off their recent victories.  “We accomplished something.

That not even Roman Reigns could do. Not only did we defeat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but we also took their titles away from them,” says Damian.

  The huge boos towards Dominik are interrupted by Brawling Brutes, who confront the champions before starting the fight.

Team Combat

Brawling Brutes (Butch and Ridge Holland) vs.  Judgment Day (Damian Priest and Finn Bálor)

The match begins at the commercial break.  Brawling Brutes lock Finn in their corner with several attacks.  Damian takes over and has a hard.

Time lifting Holland.  Priest manages to apply a Suplex and resists the punishment of his opponents before taking over Butch, who pounces on the champions.

At ringside before a new commercial break. Butch looks for the Bitter End, but his opponent reverses and both competitors relieve.

Priest stuns Holland before going down with a Belly to Belly.  Brawling Brutes look dominant until Dominik steps up to the ring.  Butch is distracted.

And receives Bálor’s punishment.  The latter avoids a counterattack from Butch and leaves him serving.

For a Chokeslam from his opponent.  Coup de Grace a Holland and victory of the champions.

Winners: Judgment Day by three

Bobby Lashley and Street Profits appear on the scene.  “They’re right about something: The Bloodline is falling apart.

But it’s not Judgment Day who takes the reins, it’s us,” says Lashley after a confrontation between the six men.

Backstage, AJ Styles claims The O.C.  for not helping him when Jimmy Uso attacked him last week.  Styles orders his group not to interfere tonight.

The rematch between LA Knight and The Miz, and Grayson Waller Effect with John Cena is announced for next week.

 IYO Sky vs. Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship is announced for September 22.

Jimmy Uso vs.  AJ Styles

AJ pushes his opponent to ringside quickly.  Jimmy takes advantage of a brief chase and starts looking for the account.  Styles’ offense is solid.

And allows him to fake a Clash in a few minutes, but Jimmy escapes and surrounds the ring.  Uso lands a solid right hand, but fails to maintain dominance.

Only Sikoa and Paul Heyman come close.  A more motivated Jimmy punishes AJ with the steel step before the last commercial break.

Jimmy corners his opponent with blows and locks him in a lock around his neck.  Styles escapes with a Powerslam and they both connect slaps until.

A Pele Kick against the Samoan.  The former world champion goes for a jump, but the mere presence of Sikoa and Heyman distracts him.

He lands a Backbreaker before taking punches to the face.  Jimmy suffers a Facebuster and is thrown into the barricade at ringside. Phenomenal Forearm over Jimmy and victory for AJ.

Winner: AJ Styles by three

 Judgment Day attack AJ Styles and hand him over to Solo Sikoa!  The look between The Bloodline reinforcement and the tag team champions says it all.
