WWE Smackdown Result & Highlight: Friday Night SmackDown Result, Winners, Grade, Video| All You Need To Know – 22nd April 2022
In-ring: Adam Pearce is in the ring for the signing of the Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey “I Quit” match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.
As SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring, here’s a video recap of the previous week’s events:
Charlotte took Drew Gulak into the figure eight and forced him to yell “I Quit.”
Pearce calls out “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and she steps into the ring, smiling to great applause from the crowd.
Pearce explains to both women that they know the procedure and it only needs their signatures. However, he did not have the contract with him.
Drew Gulak comes out, he has the contract with him and gets in the ring. Pearce explains that Gulak is applying to be his intern.
Gulak wants to explain the rules of the “I Quit” match to the audience with a PowerPoint presentation.
But Flair shuts him up – the audience loudly boos Flair. Flair threatens Gulak because she could make him lose his job.
Rousey pokes fun at Flair for badmouthing an intern. Flair mentions that she was able to defeat Rousey at WrestleMania and will make her say the two words “I Quit”.
Flair signs the contract while the audience chants “YOU TAPPED OUT”. Flair now wants to adjust her bra.
Rousey accepts the contract and the fans chant “ROUSEY”. Flair reiterates that she defeated Rousey at WrestleMania.
Rousey promises to “tap out” Flair at WrestleMania Backlash. The audience chants “YOU TAPPED OUT” again.
Having heard enough, Flair moves the table against Rousey and pulls out a kendo stick she hid earlier. The attack is short-lived, however.
As Rusey grabs the kendo stick and uses it on Flair until Gulak intervenes. Flair exits the ring while Rousey hits Gulak with the Piper’s pit in anger.
But that’s not all. Rousey applies the armbar to Gulak and signs the contract, much to the delight of the fans.
Video recap: Butch attacked The New Day on SmackDown last week. Sheamus and Ridge Holland came along.
Also beat one up on The New Day until several referees intervened and separated both sides.
1.Match
Xavier Woods (w/ Kofi Kingston) def. Butch (w/ Sheamus & Ridge Holland) via Backwoods.
Holland and Sheamus attacked Woods and Kingston on the ringside during the match, Butch used this distraction to attack Woods (8:58)
Post match: Angry Butch jumps over the ring barrier and attacks a security man. Then Butch walks out of the arena through the crowd.
Backstage, Aliyah praises Ricochet for defeating Jinder Mahal and lists the opponents he has defeated recently.
Ricochet is honored to be the Intercontinental Champion. Jinder Mahal and Shanky approach.
The Champion and Aliyah. Mahal makes fun of Ricochet until Shanky interrupts him.
Shanky challenges Ricochet to a match tonight. Ricochet accepts the challenge and Mahal seems quite dissatisfied.
Ludwig Kaiser enters the stage and introduces Gunther under the spotlight.
“The mat is sacred!” Kaiser describes him as the fiendish athlete who will stop at nothing to uphold the integrity and honor of this great sport.
The Ring General! The music hits and Gunther comes out as the next commercial break begins…
2.Match
Gunther (w/ Ludwig Kaiser) defeated Teddy Goodz after a powerbomb – before that Goodz was in sleeper hold (2:09)
Backstage: Riddle and Randy Orton talk about the match that Riddle will have against Jey Uso afterwards.
After that, Riddle mentions how much he enjoys being on SmackDown since it’s where his friends are.
Drew McIntyre shows up and Riddle mentions the past problems between McIntyre and Orton.
Riddle and Orton plan to serve as Lumberjacks (for the McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn match) afterwards.
McIntyre agrees and trusts Orton as Orton stood up to The Bloodline and the issues they both had are now finally a thing of the past.
After the conversation we see Sami Zayn – he was hiding in the background and overheard the conversation. Zayn seems happy.
Backstage: Xia Li mentions that she previously served as “The Protector”.
But currently there is no one worth protecting. In the face of this, she will only protect herself.
The next video recaps the feud between Team RK-Bro and The Usos.
3.Match
Riddle (w/ Randy Orton) def. Jey Uso (w/ Jimmy Uso) via rollup, before Jey landed on his opponent’s knees via Uso Splash – Orton back suplexed.
Jimmy on the commentary table during the match – Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman pursued the match from the locker room (12:12)
After the match, the changeover to The Bloodline’s locker room: Reigns is very disappointed about Jey’s loss.
Raw Preview Video: Bianca Belair will jeopardize her Raw Women’s Championship against Sonya Deville on Monday.
Additionally, Becky Lynch will make her first post-WrestleMania appearance on Raw and Randy Orton will be celebrating his 20th WWE Anniversary.
WWE SmackDown Result Latest News:
In-Ring: Kayla Braxton interviews Women’s Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi in the ring.
Braxton mentions that Naomi and Banks have been unstoppable since winning the title at WrestleMania 38. The audience chants “YOU DESERVE IT”.
Banks and Naomi recall that they’ve defeated all opponents so far and now they have no one to risk their titles against.
Natalya and Shayna Baszler come out and interrupt the conversation. Natalya recalls that they never beat her for the titles.
Confident that they will win the Tag Team Titles, Baszler shoves Banks to the ground. Naomi holds Banks back as the heels pull back.
Backstage: Happy Corbin turns to Madcap Moss. Corbin is willing to forgive Moss for his misstep.
Moss then makes fun of Corbin for being bald. Corbin walks away while Moss laughs heartily.
In front of the ring is the André the Giant Battle Royal trophy at the ring.
Now a hype video about Raquel Rodriguez is recorded. She will be making her SmackDown in-ring debut next week.
4.Match
Madcap Moss def. Angel after the punchline (w/ Humberto) (2:24)
Post match: Corbin storms into the ring and punches Moss from behind.
The End of Days follows before Corbin grabs the André the Giant trophy and leaves the arena.
Backstage: Sami Zayn approaches the Roman Reigns locker room. He stops and considers knocking.
After another commercial break in the Tribal Chief’s locker room, Jey apologizes to Reigns for losing to Riddle.
Paul Heyman arrives and tells Reigns and the Usos that Sami Zayn wants to speak to them.
Sami Zayn praises The Bloodline and says he overheard RK-Bro talking to Drew McIntyre.
Knowing that RK-Bro will serve as lumberjacks in his match, Zayn mentions the tag team unification match at WrestleMania Backlash.
Zayn claims he overheard RK-Bro and McIntyre insulting the entire Reigns family.
Zayn is asking for Reigns’ support tonight in exchange for retaliation. Reigns is upset that RK bros insulted the family.
For this reason, The Usos should take care of Orton & Riddle afterwards.
Video: Lacey Evans speaks again about her difficult childhood. Growing up, her family lived in tents without her mother.
The more money her father brought in, the more he drank. She didn’t have a mother to support her or help her get ready for her prom.
Evans did her makeup before every competition, but she learned to take care of herself from a young age.
She began learning to wrestle but had no support at home. She had to believe in herself.
After all that work, she came home to find her father high and passed out. Everything Evans went through prepared her for her future.

The Lumberjacks head to the ring for the main event.
These are Randy Orton, Riddle, Erik, Ivar, Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Shinksuke Nakamura, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Mansoor, Jinder Mahal and Shanky.
The Usos also came out just before the match started, which was cause for celebration for Zayn.
5.Match
Lumberjack Match
Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn via countout – during the match Holland & Sheamus.
Beat McIntyre while The Usos took care of some Lumberjacks until a brawl broke out.
McIntyre was later attacked by various Lumberjacks, but he was able to defend himself successfully (9:00)
After the match: As usual, Sami Zayn flees from Drew McIntyre. Adam Pearce then enters the stage.
They schedules a steel cage match between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn for the coming week.
Jinder Mahal and Shanky storm in and punch McIntyre, but “The Scottish Psychopath”.
Successfully defends himself and finally hits Jinder Mahal with the Claymore Kick.
McIntyre grabs his sword, Angela, and poses with it in the ring before walking to the commentary desk and speaking into Pat McAfee’s headset mic.
That he’ll be tearing Zayn apart in the coming week. After that, this week’s SmackDown ends.
